A string of deaf clouds over the season went over the metropolitan area and I noticed mammatus clouds at the back edge.

The picture best tells of today’s spring storm. As a little knowledgeable, I would call it an avalanche cloud, but how is it?

In the morning, the electricity began to cut off until it was completely cut off at about 10:30. Trees had fallen on Niipperintie and at the same time on power lines. When surveying the environment, destruction was also found in the Juvanmalmi industrial area, the Niipper school and the forest near the kindergarten, near the Lahnus school and on Vihdintie. at 12 noon several trees were reported to fall from Odilammi. Electricity was restored at 10 p.m. Image series: http://bit.ly/sZufUX

I went to Nuuksio on December 26, 2011. I helped haul a morning bus down the road to a fallen spruce at 9:00 (photo from Kunnarlandia). On a forest trail west of Pirttimäki, I saw two 20-meter trees break. I haven’t seen a fresh tree break before, so I went to test if the break point was warm - where I got it in my head too, I don’t know - it wasn’t warm. In the gust, the trees bent strongly, but I did not see any other breaks in the thick forest.

The storm brought Christmas lightning. The meteor camera recorded a total of four flashes but two of them were "full hits", meaning only white frames were recorded.

Showers one of which became 5mm ice granules and it struck one flash quite close. A few pictures of that rainstorm anvil cloud as it was arriving from the southwest. Photographed by hand, so the pictures are a bit smudged.

Exceptionally strong vortices flooded the storm cloud front. The images aren't as spectacular as my videos on YouTube, it's time five times faster: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrsmRR3zC6E

9.7.2011 at 15.16 - 15.31 - Karvia (III)
Esa Palmi, Ursa (Länsi-Suomi)

When Karvia arrived in Karvia, the thunderstorm that had risen from the south had developed a stronger thunderstorm system south of Karvia. At the front edge of the cloud, the most spectacular avalanche cloud of summer 2011 and at the same time a downpour flow. In the wake of the downpour, the roads were full of twigs. I was about 1-3 miles from the cell nucleus, with a pink hail echo and the strongest rain wall. Probably also stronger gusts of wind. The core was located in the middle of the forest, making the damage difficult to control. I later asked for information from a person living 2 km...

I left the chase with the kid, the camera, and a package of dominoes: from the south, there seemed to be a flash of clouds coming. We drove in a sunny summer weather against a cloud along the highway and the youth asked nervously ‘where here _who_ thunder?’. When we got up from the motorbike at Lempäälä, the answer was already obvious: 'There is thunder'. We loaded the cameras to the side of the road and started watching the approaching cloud. The CHDK camera was on duty independently from the sky for lightning. The leading edge of the approaching cloud was an interesting rag and had a...

8.7.2010 at 22.00 - Siilinjärvi (IV)

A thunderstorm that ran slightly south of Lake Siilinjärvi. The edge of the cell reached as far as the center of Lake Siilinjärvi, when a handsome shelf cloud was visible at the edge of the cloud. Farther under the cloud, occasional lightning was visible. I evacuated the scene for fear of rain, but it never came. I photographed four ball panoramas during the evening, you can visit them from this blog post. Attached is a preview image of one of the spherical panoramas from which the shelf cloud and the rear gust front stand out.

Tampere experienced quite a storm. Close-up triggered but luckily didn't hit. Exposure in a series of 30s with gray filters with a small aperture. The picture was kept cool of the worst debris from the camera cell that came out.

A small, lightning lightning cell passed over the center of Tampere on May 26, 2003 from 4 pm to 5 pm. I climbed to the roof of the office to admire the set.
