Teemu Syväjärvi
I went with my friend to Suomenlinna on July 16-17, 2019 to photograph the partial lunar eclipse, which was best seen there in Finland. We went on a late night ferry to Suomenlinna and climbed the southern cliffs, where we got a number of great pictures of the eclipse. Admittedly, my photos were taken with the modest camera of the iPhone 6S, so it affects the quality of my photos, especially in low light.

Matti T. Salo, Keski-Uudenmaan Altair
As in the previous year, we gathered with the Altair group in Vanhankylänniemi to watch the lunar eclipse. This time, the press didn’t advertise super-wolf-ver, so our company was joined by only a handful of other celestial starers. All of us had a dozen photographers and spectators on the beach. The eclipse itself was, as usual, a sluggish event and the light summer sky drowned our wanderers at the beginning of the brainstorming event. Fortunately, the end then showed better.

We were among the Altair observation team watching a partial lunar eclipse on the Niemennoka boat shore. The piers were locked, but luckily one of the boating star enthusiasts had the key to get behind the locks. Unlike last summer’s complete lunar eclipse, this time the Moon was easy to spot as it rose from the horizon. Already towards the end of the half-shadow phase, the darkness was surprisingly deep and the part of the Moon left in full shade was visible as deep brown. In the partial phase of the eclipse, the brightness of the background sky initially hindered the depiction of the darkene...

I prepared for the eclipse by making the right filming plan with the help of Ursa’s eclipse bulletin and Stellarium. The idea was to shoot 150-hour hour slots on both sides of the maximum. The choice of location went a bit last, about the time I started the car, I finally chose from two options. Its the farthest. In a hurry, I was about to come and as I drove north I peered in the rearview mirror that either was visible but it wasn't until I reached the lake that I got my first observation of the Moon. And a fair piece was already off the edge. To the delight of the mosquitoes, I immediate...

The partial lunar eclipse in the beautiful lake landscape of Lake Saimaa was a great experience once again. As in the last year (semi-eclipse), there was a bit of cloudiness in the beginning, which made it fun to “circle” around the moon, but the highlights were cloudless. In addition to the eclipse, nice reddish moon bridges were photographed, and also a bridge :)

Sari Huka and I were on a summer lunar eclipse hunt again. Although the southern sky had been precisely clouded throughout the rest of the evening, the weather was pretty much the best when the full shade arrived. There was little adjustment in the search for the optimal observation site, as the low target was covered behind even a small hill. The local beach offered the best view ... and plenty of interest from us follows. The itchers quickly roared the photographers. I paid attention to how the moons seemed to curve in the opposite direction on the water surface from the darkest part of the ...

There were plans to photograph the lunar eclipse in the landscapes of the last image, but when the moon's rise did not begin to appear on the pedal bike on the other side of the Salpausselä ridge along the Lahti-Kouvola road, and a magnificent purple red ragged moon was visible. After a while, the moon turned yellowish-yellow and the shadow progressed from the left side of the moon. Cars went all the way along the highway and in the third picture there is a truck flyer with the moon next to it. After the darkest phase, I cycled back to the other side of the lake. In the last picture, the u...

The rocks next to Turku's Ispoinen beach opened up unobstructed views to watch the lunar eclipse. A small cloud of drift drifted in front of the Moon for most of the event, but it didn't bother me much.

I observed a nocturnal lunar eclipse at a familiar location on the north shore of a nearby lake. The moon did not emerge from behind the clouds until it was fully ascended into the sky. At first, the clouds bothered a little, but the sky for the rest of the eclipse remained pretty clear. Image processing was quite challenging. The color of the moon changes as it rises higher, and also during eclipse. I didn’t strive for any “truth,” but tried to keep the colors faithful to what the memories of what I saw with the binoculars told me.

Partial lunar eclipse 16-17.7. 2019 at 11:43 p.m. When you knew to wait, the lunar eclipse was visible in Kuopio even from the hotel room window through the treetops. In Väinölänniemi, an open view was found to the south-east over the water, so that you could shoot. A beautiful reddish moon in the early stages of eclipse.

When the weather didn’t seem quite hopeless, contrary to expectations, I decided to try my luck with the lunar eclipse. At first, the moon rumbled stubbornly behind the clouds, but after waiting for a while, it became more or less visible. I put the camera to click the pictures every two and a half minutes and admired the summer night until the Moon again went more or less into the cloud. After a while, when the moon came up again, I quickly took a few more pictures of the set of HDR in my mind, though I had apparently managed to touch the focus unintentionally, so I wasn’t very strangely able...

The partially darkened rising moon was nicely visible on the Feed. There was still enough sunlight left that the landscape did not go black. Even the higher clouds did not have time to bother at this stage. That is, on behalf of Keli, everything was right for moon / landscape photography :-D

Despite the haze (shown in the pictures), the whole blackout was nicely visible. Every twenty seconds, two cameras snapped pictures. I compiled one composite image of the rise of the Moon to medium eclipse and just above it. Swans, geese, and storks entertained me more than a few mosquitoes at 16 degrees at night. more: https://www.ursa.fi/~koski/solarsys/2019071617/index.html

I walked in the twilight of the evening towards the nearby cliff. The sky was cloudless, or it felt like it at first. When I got to the top of the hill, I found that there is cloud of gauze on the southern horizon that prevents the moon from appearing. Well, now was a good time to get the cameras in order. Soon the moon began to peek behind the gauze and at the same time I heard a faint rumble. Two amateur colleagues had also decided to come and watch the event. The night went comfortably while chatting with them. During the sluggish eclipse, there was time to discuss the northern lights and o...
