Glooria keinovalossa

6.4.2012 at 23.28 - Kontiolahti (III)
Jari Luomanen, Ursa (Länsi-Suomi)

Led-valonheittimen kiilassa ihastelimme Riikosen kanssa gloorioita ja sumukaarta.

Kuun kehä

6.4.2012 at 22.52 - Kontiolahti (IV)
Jari Luomanen, Ursa (Länsi-Suomi)

As we photographed at night, we were able to admire the fog cloud ferries moving over the ice. At their best, they showed very fine frames. However, I save the "very impressive" rating for special cases. This is a single exposure.

Several halo forms

6.4.2012 at 22.49 - Kontiolahti (II)
Jari Luomanen, Ursa (Länsi-Suomi)

The beautiful, frosted underside was visible for a moment as the low-lying ice sweep swept past my scene. There were a lot of mixed-phase fog rafts in the area: sometimes glittering ice crystals and sometimes there were frames and gloom. Then make their own observations. The surface was gleamed with a 22r, which actually included 24 tires. In the early evening, the identification was only bitter, as the surface-sublimed surface crystals slowly grew to full size over the night.

Muu valoilmiö

6.4.2012 at 20.44 - Kontiolahti (IV)
Jari Luomanen, Ursa (Länsi-Suomi)

Maapallon varjo näkyi tänä iltana oikein komeasti vielä auringon elevaatiolla -5.1. Aurinko oli tuolloin atsimuutissa 296 astetta. Kuva taas on otettu kutakuinkin koilliseen ja maan varjo nousee horisontin keskikohdasta viistosti oikealle ylöspäin.

Several halo forms

6.4.2012 at 07.01 - Kontiolahti (II)
Jari Luomanen, Ursa (Länsi-Suomi)

The beautiful 22r at sunrise and the overhanging arch brightened by a ring. The side sun dimmed dimly between the clouds.

Hear comfortable 22r and side moons. Such spring well-drawn side suns / moons are always nice to see.

One halo form

5.4.2012 at 16.15 - Laukaa (I)
Jari Luomanen, Ursa (Länsi-Suomi)

At the break, there was still a 22-degree ring in the sky. The opening of the awesome spring Easter is still on these main ones, but as we approached Joensuu, an absolutely impossible snowstorm began. On the outskirts of the front, however, there were plenty of high clouds.

Useita halomuotoja

5.4.2012 at 13.22 - Tampere (II)
Jari Luomanen, Ursa (Länsi-Suomi)

Ennen lähtöä pitkälle automatkalle poikkesin hakemassa autoon pari polttimoa. Varaosaliikkeen pihassa ihastelin kauniiden lenticularis-pilvimuotojen ohella 22 asteen halorengasta ja äärimmäisen tarkkaan piirtyneitä keväisiä sivuaurinkoja.

Several halo forms

3.4.2012 at 19.11 - Tampere (II)
Jari Luomanen, Ursa (Länsi-Suomi)

The sun showed a dim top side brightening as I did snow work in the yard. I decided to go to the edge of the field to photograph it, but when I got there, it had dimmed to almost non-existent. That's what makes it stand out from the first picture when you know where to look. Delighted, I also noticed the beautiful 22 and 46 degree tires as surface halves. In the pictures, there are first crystal flashes of a 22-degree ring in a close-up, then both rings, and finally an image of both rings, where I have marked with green balls where the rings are about to go. As is well known, surface halos...

Several halo forms

1.4.2012 at 14.53 - Tampere (II)
Jari Luomanen, Ursa (Länsi-Suomi)

The 22-degree ring hall brightened and at the same time the pool side brightening emerged. I also photographed a surface halo that still held on to the hang even though it was already on the plus side. I left the halo crystal flashes a bit out of focus, that way they stand out more clearly. Slightly the same phenomenon as when photographing the colors of the stars.

This dull play featured a 22-degree ring hall, an overhanging arch and side suns.

One halo form

31.3.2012 at 16.06 - Tampere (I)
Jari Luomanen, Ursa (Länsi-Suomi)

The dim ZYK colored the passing moment from the sky. The cumulus rafts flourished over large areas and the sky was full of those virgins in spring style. It was difficult to say whether this halo ignited the crystals of the office or whether the crystal material was higher and visible through the office.

One halo form

Jari Luomanen, Ursa (Länsi-Suomi)

A matte surface halo that really didn’t stick to the images properly at all. To the naked eye, it stood out quite well when walking, but in a single box it faded to almost non-existent. In the picture above, you can sharpen your hawk view and try to separate that halo from the surface. In the image below, individual crystal flickers showing the halo. The lower image is thus a partial magnification from the upper.

Moon

29.3.2012 at 20.26 - Tampere
Jari Luomanen, Ursa (Länsi-Suomi)

I decided to try what kind of picture I would get of the moon with a pair of hundred telephoto lenses and a 2X telephoto extension. The image is heavily cropped and then slightly reduced. That result is not strange. You probably have to invest in the right telephoto lens.

Bright 22 degree halo. Just over ten minutes before the shooting situation, the pool assist clearing was remarkably clear. Sun elevation 31 degrees.

Weak 22r. Edit: I added a cell phone picture a little later in the day of the halo I was shooting.

The not-so-shockingly bright 22-degree halo ring told the result of the spring in Tampere.

Starscape image

25.3.2012 at 20.15 - Tampere (III)
Jari Luomanen, Ursa (Länsi-Suomi)

The moon, Venus and Jupiter shone beautifully in the evening sky. Jupiter may not stand out from the picture unless you know exactly where the lighter pixel is looking :)

One halo form

21.3.2012 at 15.58 - 17.05 - Tampere (I)
Jari Luomanen, Ursa (Länsi-Suomi)

In the afternoon, there was an extremely dim halo ring in the sky at a distance of about 22 degrees. Visually, the detection was tight, but with a mirror and a fisheye view, the ring stands out nicely. An exceptionally diffuse case, which naturally raised doubts about a possible pyramidal crystal population. On the basis of this observation, of course, the matter is not confirmed to one side or the other.

A beautiful and spring halo ring adorned the sky. At the time of imaging, the sky was already covering below the slowly thickening layer of altostratus as the front moved and the upper cloud area receded.
