Trying to get some data from the heart nebula. Ended up with 2.8 hours of exposure time. Due to the bright skies (and light pollution) the final image had to be stretched quite heavily to get the nebula to show up. But definitely happy with the collimation and focus this time.

The second DS destination of the season is the western branch of the Veil Nebula. Yes, narrowband filters have power. Not a completely dark sky, the Sun at its lowest -12.4 degrees.

DS season also opened here. Narrowband filters look incredibly powerful even in color cameras. Here's Optolong L-Extreme, with approx. 7 nm lanes (Ha, OIII). The sun at its lowest only approx. - 11.8 degrees. Light only 30 x 120 s (ie about an hour). EDIT: I added the first image stacked with ASIStudio, the second one stacked with APP. Even free programs sometimes work. There are numerous interpretations on the internet, both in terms of coloring and alignment. As a final relief, a picture of the equipment.

The planetary nebula M27 was chosen as the first target of the shooting season, which is sufficiently bright and very spectacular even with a short shooting time. In the beginning, there were some technical problems due to software updates and own error solutions. Even though there is only 1 hour of light in the picture, one working day's worth of work has been done for it, if you include all the work from setting up the tripod to image processing. The intention is to collect more light later.

Kuvissa näkyy OH-maserin spektripiikki taajuudella 1612.475 MHz. Havaintoväline on 4m paraboloidiantenni. Kohdetta seurattiin ja näytteistettiin neljänä peräkkäisenä yönä (5.8.2022..8.8.2022). Kuvissa on koostettuna havaintodataa noin 13 tunnin ajalta. Kuvaan laskettu Jansky lukema on suuntaa antava.

The first picture of the 2022-2023 season. The picture shows approx. 1.5 hours of narrowband data taken from my own backyard. I had to throw some of the pictures away, because around 1 o'clock in the night, a thin layer of clouds appeared in the sky, which disappeared completely by 2 o'clock. Considering that my backyard is bortle 6-7 levels and the lack of data obtained, I am surprisingly satisfied with the end result. At the same time, I got to test my new Sky-Wathcer EQM-35 Pro tripod. You should still try to connect the tripod to the laptop so that dithering and camera control woul...

The intention was to do a two-hour exposure test, but the clouds disagreed with me and I only managed to shoot 43 minutes. Carrying the telescope in, I noticed a green glow in the northern sky, the northern lights could be seen blazing.

After the summer, the first modest star picture. At home at the computer, I only noticed how many satellites are in the picture. Yes, there is congestion in near space. It's not easy to get pictures of the Milky Way without these Viiru creators, too bad.

For my part, I started the Ds season about a week ago and then I took the first test photos of the M13 object and at the same time I also had to test how the devices and programs work. Last night, the shooting of the same object was continued for a few pictures, and the combined exposure time in the stacked picture is 1 hour 40 minutes, and the coming nights also look moderately good for growing additional material.

Vespera's drive-in the other night. I took the North American fog as my target, in just five minutes the fog was drawn beautifully on the screen, I decided to test with a longer exposure, when there is time, and there is no rush for anything. At the same time, I take a landscape star picture with my phone.

Another shooting night at Vespera. While the sky was still light, I started with the globular cluster of Hercules. At the same time, I installed eVscope to describe a scientific observation for the Seti Institute.

Last night I got in to drive the new Vespera, and I wasn't disappointed, the tube weight is only five kilos and I was able to observe in five minutes. The third target was M51, the observation time was only 18 min before the sky was completely overcast The image has not been processed in any way, copied directly from Vespera's memory. I got this tube specifically for shooting, with eVscope it seems like all the time goes to scientific observations. It seems quite promising for that purpose and can always be taken on trips. This is where the deep sky shooting starts after the summer.

Yes, it must be admitted now that the bright summer nights are over when the Andromeda galaxy is already visible on the camera's basic equipment. Otherwise, the stars are starting to appear nicely in the sky.

Well, it's nice to photograph the city from a balcony, and this is how the deep sky photography season began for me. The purpose was mainly to regulate the equipment. Although the tripod was thrown into place with a mutu feeling, without a guider (because the camera broke) and clouds were enough for 7/8 of the sky. I used a Ha narrowband filter.
