Sunspot 2860. Visually, such a short-lived rather weak flare, in the picture it does not show.

For a few days, little has happened in the Sun and the weather has not favored, but the big filament and edge protuberances of today’s northeast corner were pretty. Lunt 80 DS, ASI183

The intention was to make a megapixel mosaic of the Sun, but it failed. I took 25 videos but I didn’t get the full disc formed from them. However, I got a 4600 x 1700 picture taken at the bottom of the Sun showing fine filaments.

Sunspot group 2842 in three ways: hydrogen alpha double filter, hydrogen alpha single, white light. The first is the Lunt 80 DS, the second the Lunt 80 SS and the third the Celestron C8 white light The camera is all the same, black and white ASI 174. I have subsequently colored the images so that the color matches as closely as possible what I see from the eyepiece. All have 2.5 x Powermate. Image scale With Celestron, of course, a different, effective focal length at 2.5 x 2032 = 5000 mm. The Celestron white filter is really yellow (Celestron Eclipsmart). For each I have taken a series of 100...

Today, on the north edge of the Sun, slightly to the west, there were filaments so close to the edge that they continued as protuberances. You can see in the picture (maybe) that they are the same things. Lunt 80 mm, Barlow, ASI 174.

I photographed the morning sun in the hydrogen alpha. The sunspot group AR 12835 and the prominences were handsome. This is my first h-alpha My picture, if not the very first completely incorrectly focused attempts are counted now. It takes a bit to study more image processing, but I’m pretty happy with that too.

Partial solar eclipse

10.6.2021 at 13.43 - Porkkala, Kirkkonummi (IV)
Ben Kalland, Ursa (Helsinki)

I photographed a partial solar eclipse with a white light solar filter. I tried to get a picture of the moment when the sunspots 2832 were just at the edge of the Moon, but unfortunately they don’t look good. Nikon P900, 357 mm 1 / 500s, f / 6.5, ISO 400

Sun

14.2.2021 at 16.39 - Helsinki (IV)
Ben Kalland, Ursa (Helsinki)

A small evening call at sunset. The saxophonist is on a high hill, shooting distance 1.5 km. I practiced using a sunscreen for the June eclipse. I calculated the height and direction of the sun in advance, but I did not know the exact height position of the shooting location and the subject, so I had to adjust the position of the model at about 10 m at the last minute, unfortunately too close to the trees. Sunspots are not visible.

Lightning struck the island of Linlo, about 500 m from the scene in Porkkala. The front came in the morning from the open sea to the coast.
