At 7 o'clock in the countries Jyväskylä had a thin cloud and occasional openings. I photographed with camera optics from the hand through the cloud without a filter and the opening hit the spot through the welder's glass ;-)

Moon and Mars together at 23:53, 00:10 and 00:26. What was the picture when the air temperature was +22 C at midnight. Although my observation site was practically clear, there was apparently enough auerta or cloudiness in the southeastern horizon, and the Moon so dim that I only noticed it until 23:40.

At 9 p.m., there were a few short periods of activity on both sides, with a purple-edged arc at best, and a radial curtain whose tops were very blue in places, extending over 45 degrees. Beautiful autumn and spring phenomenon. However, there is nothing particularly impressive, covering the sky with Multia latitude. At peak times, I wasn’t in a decent shooting location yet, these images are from the downturn. After that, the sky was more or less empty. The cloudiness was 0/8 all the time, so you could admire the starry sky while listening to the Finland-Romania football match :-) In the low nor...

The diffuse arc brightened and activated promisingly at 20:50, after which a few dim blue rays rose to a maximum of 40 degrees. The joy, however, ended short as Bz rose north and the sky clouded. No information on the 'stripes' at the west end of the arc or anywhere else.

For at least half an hour we got to admire this show. The water was so sprinkled that the surface of the 14mm front lens was allowed to dry whenever the memory.

A heavy downpour swept over Jyväskylä and the sun was shining behind it - as many times before this summer. Apologies for the bumpy panorama!

What struck me most strongly was the feeling that the warming effect of the sun was clearly reduced more than the brightness of the environment. The observation conditions were perfect throughout the performance.

The usual Northern Lights show for Northern Laplanders, started little by little in the evening and continued into the morning hours. Nice clear and windless night. Nikon D800, Nikkor 14 mm @ f2.8, 4 s, 3200 ASA

In the early evening, only at most medium-sized openings were found in the cloud cover in the Jyväskylä region, so the large structures were not completely visible. However, the evening was remembered, in a special way: the Tikkakoski garrison and the Air Force base are nearby, where the day's air war exercise continued. Two fighters took to the air from the field and a pair of exercise-related red torches were fired from the same direction, which appear in the lower right corner of the first image. It was possible for the pilots to have a great view!
