Quiet aurora band

1.12.2021 at 19.30 - Vaasa, Strömsö (II)
Timo Alanko, Vaasan Andromeda

The values were a bit high, and the sky was still open for a while, so I would go to Strömsö's boat shore to document the situation. That was modest. With a little HDR processing, even a few rays and red lower edges came off. The eyes were mostly green.

Several halo forms

28.11.2021 at 10.45 - Vaasa (II)
Timo Alanko, Vaasan Andromeda

I raised Mavic for a small frost test (-15). Well done and preyed on a couple of halos at the same time. The first image is slightly tuned with Snapseed's HDR function. The second original.

Several halo forms

19.11.2021 at 23.00 - Vaasa (II)
Timo Alanko, Vaasan Andromeda

The moon showed a bit of a twofold and maybe a little overhead. Osmo Action followed the situation overnight, but the halo ring actually evaporated right at the beginning of the time. So no video here :(

A fireball at night, as bright as a cresent moon

14.11.2021 at 20.55 - Vaasa (III)
Timo Alanko, Vaasan Andromeda

Osmo Action was waiting for halo rings to hear. I actually saw the fireball live, and it was much more spectacular than what was recorded in the picture. The ball was, in my opinion, more straight, as if square. Burned quickly yellowish. It hit the three-second exposure appropriately. Then there would have been an 8s break again :)

Crepuscular rays

Extraordinarily pretty redness after sunset. When blaming Mavic's images, the rays stand out from the crowd.

Light pillars

13.11.2021 at 23.25 - Vaasa (II)
Timo Alanko, Vaasan Andromeda

Osmo Action was on the roof in the first frost test. Well done. The intention was to catch a lunar halo ring for a nocturnal timelapse, but one just didn’t show up. A rather pathetic pillar of artificial light appeared to the left for a moment at half past twelve. The exposure for the moon was only 3s / ISO 800. And I wouldn't have been a little more spectacular with a longer and more sensitive exposure. There are only a few of those pillars in my statistics, so I'll put it as a statistical observation :)

One halo form

Sunny morning. Two-eyed through Mavic's eyes.

Starscape image

I tested the Canon f2.8 200-millimeter on familiar destinations. 5D mk 3 and iOptron Skytracker pro behind the tube. Exposures of the minute range and processing of still images on the phone with a snapseed.

Aurora rays

6.11.2021 at 19.45 - Strömsö, Vaasa (III)
Timo Alanko, Vaasan Andromeda

Another night on the tube. The sky in Vaasa is open and repos, at least a little, are on offer. Edit. The camera clearly sees the colors clearly darker than the human eye. I also dealt with a version of the second image that better matches my live sensation. Edit 2 I added a link to the video all night (17.47-07.00). Unfortunately, even lifting the camera to the roof doesn’t help against that tree. Most of the axes seem to be behind the trees :( https://youtu.be/ztufL_AwzMk

Airglow clearly visible

Timo Alanko, Vaasan Andromeda

Should those Orange stripes glow in the air? Such have been seen in other recent days as well.

Meteor image

5.11.2021 at 23.47 - Vaasa (I)
Timo Alanko, Vaasan Andromeda

Osmo Action went to the roof to be on duty at repos. The forest is badly in front, but something was left there. In one timelapse image, there appears to be a small fireball in the image. The sky seems to have been surprisingly good at night. Unfortunately, the repos faded after half past one. I'll make a giff of them separately, even though they didn't look spectacular.

Aurora rays

5.11.2021 at 23.10 - 00.35 - Vaasa (III)
Timo Alanko, Vaasan Andromeda

In the Andromeda Active Group, ten were already communicating with reptile. I went to take a few pictures of the backyard path and finally took Osmo Action to the roof on duty. That show was very far down now. A better location would probably have had a spectacular imprint. Maybe someone else has photographed that ... I took some pictures of the giff.

Auroras seen through breaks in the clouds

31.10.2021 at 01.36 - 01.42 - Vaasa (III)
Timo Alanko, Vaasan Andromeda

Oh well. The forecasts promised a lot, and the sky had to be somewhat open in the Vaasa region. Osmo Action was on duty on the roof and photographed orange clouds illuminated by light pollution, mainly glowing to the timelapse. At the right moment, however, the clouds seem to have had that many gaps and that quick spike hit the images. A few pictures made the giff baked. Otherwise you will be stigmatized behind thick clouds :(

The approaching sleet in the afternoon gave birth to a base ridge.

Now I had to water the MiniMavicki! The day of drizzle got its crown.

Primary rainbow

11.10.2021 at 18.15 - Vaasa (III)
Timo Alanko, Vaasan Andromeda

On a miserable rainy day, the evening was refreshed from the sea with the sun glistening on display. Rainbows were also visible on the opposite side.

Fogbow

9.10.2021 at 09.35 - Vaasa (II)
Timo Alanko, Vaasan Andromeda

It was originally a difficult phenomenon to describe. My mavic has no panorama function. Now it would have been of use. The fog arc was really wide. Well, let's try it. Edit. I lifted Mavic into the air again, and then a pretty gloria had appeared :)

Cosmos 1758

2.10.2021 at 22.11 - Vaasa (I)
Timo Alanko

Osmo Action was on call overnight, but the repos shone with their absence. The brightest satellite line was probably Cosmos 1758, at least according to HeavebsAbove. Garnished with all-night streaks. Now you have a cloudy mind for days again ... :(

Well now I was able to write a story again :) In the morning this box didn't pop out. Let's go with the same browser. What lie bit space interference was. A small pillar stump in honor of Half-Day evening.
