A fireball at night, brigter than the venus

28.11.2021 at 19.52 - Orimattila, Artjärvi, Tähtikallio (III)
Veikko Mäkelä, Ursa (Helsinki)

Jorma Ryske reports that a fireball had been seen in Tähtikallio's camera. It would seem to have looked pretty good, even though there was a thin cloud of sky in the sky. The weather situation seems to be similar to what Harri Kiiskinen reported from Jyväskylä . The appearance of a fireball is similar. There seems to have been a small flare-up at the end of the fireball. Attached is the original, slightly highlighted and cropped and zoomed version of the image. The exposure of the image is 56 s and apparently the entire fireball has fit into this time fork.

Diffuse glow

8.11.2021 at 23.20 - 04.00 - Orimattila, Artjärvi, Tähtikallio (I)
Veikko Mäkelä, Ursa (Helsinki)

Inspired by the northern lights spotted in the all-sky images of Hankasalmi and Pilvilinna, I also set out to capture images from the Tähtikallio all-sky camera. The beginning is about 11:20 pm to midnight with weak normal northern lights activity, a little reddish and green in the northwest and northeast. Between 0.49-1.16 there will be three sets of spots, first low east (0.49-0.52), then west (0.57-1.03) and again east (1.08-1.16). After a quieter period at 3.30-3.54 comes a new series, with a radial formation at the beginning of the west, under which the patch lasts a few minutes (3.30-3.4...

29P / (Schwassmann-Wachmann) The periodic comet of the Jupiter family was filmed on the second night of the November 2021 campaign. Outbreaks sometimes occur in a comet, which is why we have tried to shoot several times. The comet's orbit is outside Jupiter's orbit and will be close to Jupiter 2037 less than 1au away. Discharges may increase the brightness by 1-5 mag. The size of the large comet's core is 60.4km. As of filming, the comet was 5,064 miles away, the closest 4.82au on November 6, 2020. 1Picture The sum of the stack by comet. In the direction of 3 o'clock a separate...

The asteroid Apollo NEO / PHA was photographed on the second night of November. The asteroid was discovered on 16 November 2004 in the Linear exploration program, the first sighting was made on 12 September (645) in the Apache Point-Sloan Digital Sky Survey. Size estimate 170-380m rotation speed 5.6h and 1mag brightness difference, suggests an elongated shape? The Goldstone Radar Observatory intends to photograph the 2004 EU and also the second one we photographed 3361 Orpheus Apollo 11.11.2021! This galaxy seemed to have a beautiful dense spiral structure visible directly from above. The destination is perhaps one of the best in the constellation, which is otherwise not particularly well known for its spectacular DS destinations.

When we photographed the fish spiral galaxy NGC 488, this came into the picture like several other asteroids. The asteroid was discovered by the Japanese amateur astronomer Takao Kobayashi at the Oizumi Observatory on January 27, 1995. The asteroid is named after Masato Ishiguro (b. 1945) of the Japanese ALMA project manager (Atacama Large Millimeter / submillimeter Array). This spherical constellation looked very dichotomous. Individual stars appeared to rest on the diffuse mass. Due to the deteriorating weather, most of the exposures flew to the trash during the stacking phase.

In the constellation Sagittarius, the spherical constellation near the border of Capricorn has a dense essence. The subject is quite different from the M56 photographed the same night.
