Jag fotograferade månens Gloria (22 graders båge) när norrskenets båge började mötas från öst. The luggage racks up to the top of the Himlen and the sea from the other side of the Himlen

Active aurora band

The waltz of spring work. Shortly before midnight, behind the northeast of the island, dim stripes of northern lights began to stand out, curving into the middle sky. Exactly at midnight one of them activated. The prom lasted a dozen minutes. After that, the northern lights dimmed. The second show had reportedly been an hour and a half later. While waiting for the Northern Lights at about 11.45 pm I happened to look behind me, and just then a bright meteor, a fireball, plunged into the atmosphere in the southwest. That sight for a couple of seconds.

The dangers of the Maanselä area in Kuusamo were shrouded in a fine mist in the morning. As the sun peeked through the clouds, a mist appeared over Sarvivaara. Freezes a dozen degrees.

Kuu ja Venus

14.10.2020 at 06.43 - Kuusamo (III)
Heikki Ketola

There was occasional more or less fog in front of the crescent moon and Venus in the morning. I photographed the duo without fog and with a little fog. The country came out best filtered by fog.

The full moon rose in gold completely over Pacific Torankijärvi and a beautiful moon bridge appeared on the surface of the lake.

Several halo forms

6.4.2020 at 12.03 - 12.04 - Kuusamo (II)
Heikki Ketola

The Cirrus clouds sailed at a rather sluggish pace from the northwest. Near the sun, halos appeared in their ice crystals; side suns, minor arcs, and 22-degree tire fragments. They disappeared fairly quickly as the clouds continued into the sky at the edge of the sky. A course of a small nuisance took me to just the right place on the east side of the sun and it was accompanied for a moment by the sun dog (side dog in English, sun dog).

Halo-April has started in Kuusamo in rather quiet signs. That’s why the side sun a year ago is on display here. Scattered upper clouds moved in the sky quite quickly, and especially to the left of the sun, nice-looking side suns emerged whenever the cloud happened at a suitable distance from the sun.

Quiet aurora band

Northern lights appeared in the northern sky while the horizon was still bright. I photographed the lake on ice and then went to a nearby forest where I knew there was beautiful Kelo. I guess these are the last decent warps of this winter season as the nights lighten their lighter.

Venus descends into the western sky and makes a bridge over the River Kitka. At the same time, the moon rising from the south illuminates the landscape.

Rare halos

6.11.2019 at 12.00 - 13.15 - Kuusamo
Heikki Ketola

On the northwest side of Rukatunturi there was an ice bog with spectacular halos a little after noon. The bright sun pillar gave birth to colorful side suns, of which the right-hand one in particular was fine. Next to it, a piece of 22-degree tire also stood out. The fog was only low at the time, and no ordinary side suns were noticeable.

Is there a name for such a revelation? The visibly colorful area is a 22 degree arc. And can the lower sun be like that?
