A fireball at night, as bright as a full moon

1.12.2021 at 17.06 - Kangaslampi (III)
Ville Miettinen, Warkauden Kassiopeia

My observatory allsky on the camera was just left with a wound of automatic detection. This will probably lead to further observations soon.

Diffuse glow

9.11.2021 at 00.59 - 01.28 - Varkaus (I)
Ville Miettinen, Warkauden Kassiopeia

I am not sure if this is a phenomenon related to northern lights, but I will now report it on this form. This special spot on the east - west axis was recorded in the sky camera of my observatory. The duration of the incident was half an hour - this is also recorded by the sky camera of the Härkämäki Observatory, which produces a black-and-white image about 10 meters away, so there can be no question of lens reflection. It would be interesting to know what causes this phenomenon, whether northern lights or not. The images are 60s exposures taken in succession. #sarg

Rocket-related clouds

28.9.2021 at 00.11 - 00.13 - Varkaus (II)
Ville Miettinen, Warkauden Kassiopeia

Rocket launch left in the cloud camera of the cloud castle. The first stage earlier in the evening was completely left behind the trees.

A fireball at night, brigter than the venus

Ville Miettinen, Warkauden Kassiopeia

Cloud castle fireball camera identification.

Rocket-related clouds

9.9.2021 at 23.05 - 23.12 - Varkaus (IV)
Ville Miettinen, Warkauden Kassiopeia

The rocket launch was nicely seen in the Pilvilinna sky camera. The images are 60s of exposures shot in succession.

A fireball at night, brigter than the venus

Ville Miettinen, Warkauden Kassiopeia

Automatic detection of a cloud castle sky camera. Apparently a pretty bright ass.

Image of an exceptional thunder cloud

23.6.2021 at 18.30 - 23.00 - Varkaus (V)
Ville Miettinen, Warkauden Kassiopeia

Watching the Aatu violent air began in Varkaus, from where I soon moved northeast towards Liperi. Along the ysitie, I finally let the front cross, and then the journey home went on a slip in the middle of storm damage. Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egFVrHuU4GE

At least 10 lightning strikes seen

22.6.2021 at 18.30 - 02.30 - Tervo (IV)
Ville Miettinen, Warkauden Kassiopeia

I started the day from Kiuruvesi, but the thunderclouds clearly had difficulty organizing apart further north so there was a contentment with more popper-type thunder cells. Luckily at night I got a good lightning in the direction of Tervo to the wounds. :) Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6L68apP1gQ

Arcus cloud

21.6.2021 at 17.30 - 19.30 - Paltamo (IV)
Ville Miettinen, Warkauden Kassiopeia

The first day of the storm bonga trip, I followed the development of the Ahti breeze first from Utajärvi where the first picture was taken. In Paltamo, I finally let the front cross, accompanied by heavy thunderstorms. Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5aA34q4Q_0

Partial solar eclipse

10.6.2021 at 14.00 - Kuopio (IV)
Ville Miettinen, Warkauden Kassiopeia

Detecting a partial eclipse was tricky in the absence of a suitable telescope - but emergency means come up! A piece of cardboard and a small moment of crafting produced a successful observation.

Arcus cloud

20.5.2021 at 21.30 - Liperi (IV)
Ville Miettinen, Warkauden Kassiopeia

In the MCS, which left Latakia, a avalanche cloud, lightning was quite brisk as well and several fine multiples were visible. Chasevideo can be found on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6j1v-ueeNkY

A fireball at night, brigter than the venus

Automatic detection from the cloud castle sky camera.

IC443

11.4.2021 at 00.00 - Varkaus (IV)
Ville Miettinen, Warkauden Kassiopeia

I photographed this emission nebula in the constellation of twins as early as January, but the project was a little hanging because the moon was too close to the subject on many shooting nights. During the spring, exposure accumulated for 13 hours. Bigger picture on the blog. www.evenfall.space/post/jellyfish-nebula

A fireball at night, brigter than the venus

8.4.2021 at 22.28 - Varkaus (III)
Ville Miettinen, Warkauden Kassiopeia

The automatic detection of the allsky camera of the cloud castle observatory, quite bright or long-lasting I guess has been when such a long mark has been made.

4.4.2021 at 00.00 - Varkaus (IV)
Ville Miettinen, Warkauden Kassiopeia

I photographed this great object in the constellation of Cepheus for six nights from small clouds. The object is named Elephant's Trunk Nebula due to its appearance at wavelengths of visible light. The target only rises above the observation horizon after midnight at this time of year so it was difficult to get long series at a time. However, light accumulated for about 12 hours in the narrowband and one hour for RGB for the stars. A larger image and a small information package can be found in my blog: www.evenfall.space/post/the-elephant-s-trunk-nebula

NGC 2237

31.3.2021 at 23.00 - Varkaus (IV)
Ville Miettinen, Warkauden Kassiopeia

I filmed the rosette fog on four different nights during March, on the moon I prioritized the Ha and SII channels, and on the moonless nights I filmed the OIII and R, G, and B channels for the stars. Shooting was challenged by the subject sinking below the observation horizon quite early before midnight so no data was received for very long periods at a time. However, trying hard was worth it and I got a lot of exposures in front of me for just over 8 hours. A larger image can be found on my blog: www.evenfall.space/post/cosmic-bloom

A fireball at night, brigter than the venus

16.3.2021 at 20.15 - Varkaus (III)
Ville Miettinen, Warkauden Kassiopeia

Small is a cloud gap, but fortunately at the right time. Automatic detection by the observatory's sky camera.

NGC 4631, NGC 4656

Ville Miettinen, Warkauden Kassiopeia

A whale galaxy with partners. I filmed this on two different nights in early March. A larger image can be found on the blog: www.evenfall.space/post/whale-galaxy

A fireball at night, brigter than the venus

11.3.2021 at 03.52 - Varkaus (III)
Ville Miettinen, Warkauden Kassiopeia

A rather bright car had remained in the cloud castle's camera near the northern horizon.

NGC 7023

11.3.2021 at 00.00 - Varkaus (IV)
Ville Miettinen, Warkauden Kassiopeia

I photographed this gem of the constellation of Cepheus on four moonless nights in early March. No exposure was accumulated throughout the night as part of the time the subject went too low and the wall of the observatory came to the front. However, data accumulated in just over 19 hours.
