Several bright halo forms

24.5.2015 at 13.22 - Uusikaupunki (III)
Anne Pöyhönen

The foot clouds came before noon and thickened appropriately as upper clouds so that the 22-degree halo emerged for several hours. At times, the top side was also clearly visible.

Rare halos

22.6.2016 at 18.50 - 19.50 - Helsinki (IV)
Anne Pöyhönen, Ursa (Etelä-Suomi)

Some celebrate a birthday with fireworks, but today the amusement park in the sky was like a halo enthusiast commissioned for a halo play! Yes there was a smile in the delicate! The arc of the zenith environment was visible in soaring bright colors over and over as the upper clouds flew, with a 46-degree overhang (?) Attached to it and the side suns gleaming a little in the colors and at their most beautiful The arch of the upper concave Parry made a dome for the upper side of the 22-degree ring. It was a feast for once!

Side sun and sub-side sun from an airplane. There will be an easily chosen seating haloyst from the most sincere point of view whenever the sun is shining. And then sometimes the pilot flies just wishing to get to see something beautiful. Hole cloud seen from above. The lower side sun is formed by crystals falling in the middle of it. I then forgot to put up which country Europe is going to.

Pääsateenkaari

17.8.2012 at 17.00 - Lepaa
Anne Pöyhönen

Two parallel rainbows, twinned bows, which in the images are no longer really faintly visible in the middle of the image, slightly to the right. It was a thunderstorm day, and in this deafness I saw something I didn’t think was right at first - two parallel rainbows next to each other. I invited the other attendees to wonder, and then I only realized to pick up the camera even if the phenomenon still existed. If anyone would get a better look at them. At the Atoptics.co.uk page then, I found better pictures of it, and realized I had seen something real though. http://atoptics.co.uk/rainbows/tw...

One halo form

8.1.2012 at 20.06 - Tampere (I)
Anne Pöyhönen

Artificial light pillars emerged as the sun set and the frost intensified. The light column of Kolmankulma ABC on the border of Nokia and Tampere sometimes creates an artificial light pillar to continue. Kodin Terra's column did not participate in the race this time.

Hail in the summer season

19.6.2018 at 19.07 - 19.12 - Vantaa (III)
Anne Pöyhönen, Ursa (Etelä-Suomi)

The radar showed a thunder front, quite wide as it extended from Lohja to Lahti and came from the northwest as a sharp-edged avalanche cloud. Before that, a separate cloud dropped a hailstorm, small hailstones among the water, but spectacular as it fell from the cloud. It seems to be described by someone else here, the same hail cloud. Waiting for the front to approach is always a great moment. You can visually assess when the avalanche is coming on, and then the wind starts to rise. In an instant, the wind already twists all the trees and shrubs, and you know that there is no more time to run...

Hail in the summer season

25.3.2019 at 17.30 - 18.10 - Vantaa (V)
Anne Pöyhönen, Ursa (Etelä-Suomi)

The cloud I saw in the dark, from which I wondered what it was, rained when I went to the shops, so the time was not accurate, but when I came out the snow grains on the ground did not start to melt and hardened during the evening and are still intact at night. They were the largest I saw, almost about 1 cm in diameter, tense-shaped, like a space capsule returning to the atmosphere: conical, with the wider end curvedly crumbly than the cell formations of the mammatus cloud. The most special sight I have come across even during the years of the RaPu project. At least in front of Vantaa's Ju...

Funnel cloud

22.6.2017 at 22.29 - Helsinki (III)
Anne Pöyhönen

The setting sun would illuminate the funnel formations hanging down from the cloud and help to perceive their shape. Three funnels that appeared to be rotating. The shape of the funnel emerges in the already volatile thin-clouded vortices on the left as two vertical strips that revolve around each other. The rightmost is the most familiarly shaped funnel. Suvi Jaakkola has photographed the same funnel in her own observation.

Arcus cloud

20.7.2014 at 13.01 - Raseborg (IV)
Anne Pöyhönen

The thunder front approached from the southeast. At first there was a rumble that approached and intensified. The sky turned dark blue and a dark area approached. The radar showed a lightning-striking front crossing the Gulf of Finland, which intensified at super speed after reaching the sun-scorched land mass of Western Uusimaa. The edge of the cloud began to appear behind the trees, and it rolled straight over. It saw that the point would become a big gust of wind, and with it a downpour. I warned market vendors and then the audience as I jogged past that the storm was just coming on, now sh...

Arcus cloud

19.8.2016 at 20.00 - Helsinki (V)
Anne Pöyhönen, Ursa (Helsinki)

A thunderstorm front that passed north from the Gulf of Finland from Estonia came as a avalanche to the shores of Helsinki's Kaivopuisto. According to the thunder radar, I didn't see it, but I didn't see it, but the avalanche advanced obliquely above the western edge so that it didn't come on right away, but it was allowed to be photographed for a long time. Sailing ships rushed their sails as they experienced a gust of avalanche above the avalanche. As the cloud progressed a mile along the shore to the east, rain began and a queue came to the beach cafe.

Arcus cloud

20.7.2018 at 18.38 - 18.41 - Tuusula (III)
Anne Pöyhönen, Ursa (Helsinki)

After all, an avalanche came from there, but even though the wind rose on it, the rain didn't start, the thunder didn't start, and the lightning didn't flash. It was as if the stereo in the movie theater was broken. Farther away I only saw a fad, but I didn't wait for it, it looked so faint.

Arcus cloud

22.5.2019 at 17.20 - 17.35 - Vantaa (III)
Anne Pöyhönen, Ursa (Helsinki)

Lightning struck the air traffic control tower, and such a nice avalanche cloud brought a small dime. Flash shooting through the mesh fence was not successful. There was no such decent force here yet, and the sun was shining right after that.

A fireball at night, brigter than the venus

8.11.2017 at 01.01 - Vantaa (III)
Anne Pöyhönen, Ursa (Helsinki)

We looked at the northern lights, which at times appeared as low greenish, flaming curtains. Suddenly, a small fireball flew directly into the field of view, sparking him, which probably broke. Duration about 1-2 seconds. After 6 minutes, another similar one appeared, both clearly brighter than Vega and Venus. Both have a similar sparkling tail. Or the tail could be described as the meteoroid disintegrating into 5-6 parts, and the separate pieces glowing for another half-second. The color was white or yellowish white, not a strong color. The head disappeared immediately as the tail acted. The ...
