Total lunar eclipse

28.9.2015 at 05.00 - 06.25 - Akaa (IV)
Marko Järvinen, Ursa (Länsi-Suomi)

Super moon eclipse in Akaan Kylmäkoski. I went to watch the eclipse at 5:00 in the morning when the sky was completely cloudy. Even when the perfect phase began, it was still cloudy, but luckily it turned out just right before six so I could still see something and take a few photos. As the perfect phase neared its end after six o'clock, the clouds again covered the whole sky, and at 6.24 the end of the perfect phase, the moon was no longer very faintly visible between the clouds.

Partial solar eclipse

20.3.2015 at 11.22 - Akaa (IV)
Marko Järvinen

Partial eclipse photographed from Akaan Kylmäkoski. Pictures at 11.22, 12.07 and 12.46. Relatively good weather, I timed a little cloud gauze, but that didn’t bother the observation. Described through a SW 80ED telescope with a digital harrow. At the same time, it was viewed with a Coronado PST attached to the same stand.

I also photographed the overpass with a Coronado PST Ha telescope before leaving the Ha tube for mere visual observation. This photo was taken in Tampere at 6.00 local time.

Transit of venus

6.6.2012 at 05.20 - Tampere (III)
Marko Järvinen, Ursa (Länsi-Suomi)

I watched and photographed the passage of Venus in Tampere in partly cloudy conditions. In the morning, as the sun rose, the sky was sadly cloudy, but the weather healed quickly. The first image at 5.57, the second at 7.00, the third just before 7.36, when Venus touched the edge of the Sun (3rd contact) and the last image at 7.47. I also noticed an overrun during shooting with a Coronado PST Ha telescope visually attached to the same tripod. Stars and Space in Issue 4/2012 Hannu Määttänen asked those using Ha-tubes to see if Venus is still visible against the corona or protuberances after the ...

Conjuction of celestial bodies

9.2.2012 at 18.40 - Akaa (III)
Marko Järvinen, Ursa (Länsi-Suomi)

Venus and Uranus appeared on the evening of 9.2. comfortably in the field of view of the telescope when only about 0.5 degrees apart. An additional spice to detect this encounter was brought by a brisk -21 degree frost. Pictured are the planets at 6:40 p.m.

1.10.2011 at 21.20 - 01.30 - Akaa, Kylmäkoski (IV)
Marko Järvinen, Ursa (Länsi-Suomi)

The opening of the star shooting season dragged on this year to the bright weekend of the turn of September-October. My first targets of the season were IC 1805 Heart Fog. The narrowband image has a total exposure of 3 h 20 min
