Binocular comet Wirtanen

13.12.2018 at 00.00 - 00.45 - Salo, Halikko (II)
Jari Pekka Savojoki, Salon seudun UrSalo

Coincidentally, I noticed that the clouds had receded at night. I went looking for a comet with binoculars and since it was easily found I decided to try to take a picture of it as well. Since the basic camera tripod was used this time, the picture was taken with only 2s of exposure. In the morning it was completely cloudy again.

Jari Pekka Savojoki, Salon seudun UrSalo

I visited Ursa's Deep Sky meeting at Artjärvi. I also got to shoot for a long time and luckily there were relatively good conditions that weekend. The first night there was a lot of intrusion into the filming locations, so I took a shooting night on Sunday. I decided to photograph the Galaxy of the Triangle and then exposed it all night and at half past six in the morning before going to bed I took the screening frames. There was a lot of remembrance again in the processing of the image, when time had passed, but here is the output of that project as LRGB. Later, I may add, when I start to...

The harvest of the 2015 deep sky meeting will increase. I only had time to process this now. Although that 1200mm is a bit unnecessarily little focal length for this target, I got more out of this than before. The raw images already showed more than before. I tried hard to get all the data out. When I then got the picture of PixInsight ready, I was a little disappointed at first because the colors looked different than usual. Then I dug up Huble’s image of the subject and found that the colors matched and the same details were outlined in my own image, of course at a much lower resolution.

NGC 6888

12.9.2015 at 22.00 - Orimattila, Artjärvi (IV)
Jari Pekka Savojoki, Salon seudun UrSalo

The 2015 deep sky meeting was a good filming night on Saturday. Image compilation and processing was delayed. Better late than never. Here is the Sickle Mist in question. in the evening.

By the Saturday night of the Equipment Days, I had also piled a big tube (VX12) to capture images of the galaxies at the same time as the other imaging equipment. In this series, a stacked image of the Black Eye galaxy.

NGC 3628

14.3.2015 at 21.30 - Orimattila, Artjärvi (III)
Jari Pekka Savojoki, Salon seudun UrSalo

By the Saturday night of the equipment days, I had also assembled my second imaging equipment. Here is the first output of the Star Days camera with that longer focal length and smaller cell. Suitable targets for this construction are, for example, those faster galaxies.

14.3.2015 at 20.00 - Orimattila, Artjärvi (IV)
Jari Pekka Savojoki, Salon seudun UrSalo

On the second night of the equipment days, I decided to photograph Orion's large gas mist, which was very low. Much of the described subject, but I wanted to take a picture of this subject with a slightly different crop than I had taken before. two images, one with a Ha filter channel.

Jari Pekka Savojoki, Salon seudun UrSalo

In connection with the meeting of the Artjärvi Observatory Instrument Division, there were good observational conditions. I continued filming in the morning in the direction of Owl Nebula as that Flaming Star Nebula began to sink behind the trees. The attached view was recorded from that direction and the M108 Galaxy is also visible in it.

Jari Pekka Savojoki, Salon seudun UrSalo

I had taken the shooting equipment to Artjärvi for the equipment days at the Ursa observation equipment department, and the moonless shooting weather was quite good. My first target on Friday night was I took an IC 405 mist from Toni’s tip.

12.3.2015 at 23.00 - Salo, Halikko (III)
Jari Pekka Savojoki, Salon seudun UrSalo

As the cloudlessness continued, I decided to describe the galaxies in the direction of Leo. The attached view grabbed the cell.

NGC 2264

11.3.2015 at 21.00 - Salo, Halikko (IV)
Jari Pekka Savojoki, Salon seudun UrSalo

As cloudless and moonless evenings continued, I also exposed this subject before it sank behind the trees. The number of exposures remained small, but the subject was still moderately captured.
