A few years ago, I photographed a vast Bull’s molecular cloud with camera optics, and later, while watching the prey, I noticed this peculiar detail. I returned to it now with my telescope, the close-up provided by which brings out the confusingly staring gap of reflective and dark mists. The target is located on the edge of the dark fog LDN 1495. The reflection fog at the bottom of the eye is by no means particularly dim, but perhaps a little surprisingly, it is not listed on any of the more general lists. The same is true for the second reflection fog from the eye to the top left. Full size ...

I chose Triangle Galaxy M33 as the first light for my new telescope. Despite the hard work, the collimation is not in place, but the car collimator has already been ordered. More detailed shooting information and a full size image can be found in my Astrobin gallery .

The large galaxy in Andromeda is huge in angular diameter, so it doesn’t fit anywhere near the field of view of my imaging equipment. I therefore decided to spend several nights building a mosaic of four images of this great object. The total exposure was as high as 33.5 hours, which is probably my personal record. Admittedly, due to moonlight and occasional cloud cover, much of the exposure is of rather poor quality. More information and full size image in my Astrobin gallery .

NGC 7538 shines in the middle of a large area of emission fog. In addition, the picture shows a couple of dark fogs. Filmed October 10/11 and October 14/15. More detailed shooting information and full size image in Astrobin .

The spherical constellation NGC 2419 in the constellation of lynx is also known as the Intergalactic Wanderer. It has since become clear that, despite a distance of 300,000 light-years, it is tied to the Milky Way. NGC 2419 is one of the brightest and most massive spherical constellations in our home galaxy. More detailed shooting information and a full size image can be found in my Astrobin gallery.

Cederblad 30 reflective nebula in a large molecular cloud of a bull photographed on two nights 19-21. January. The transparency of the sky was lousy across the line and some of the screens ended up in the trash, but barely usable data accumulated for 9 hours. A full size image and more detailed shooting information can be seen in my Astrobin gallery .

Handsome halos caused by ice mist in Kankaanpää as photographed with a mobile phone camera. Of these, I only recognize 22 and 46 degree tires as well as the sun pillar. The phenomenon was local and showed no trace less than a kilometer from the scene.

The object in the picture is part of a larger nebula complex known as Heart Nebula in the constellation Cassiopeia. The filming dates were November 25, 2017 and December 21-22, 2017. Even less exposure would have been sufficient for the main subject itself, but a total exposure time of ten hours made processing easier and exposed the dimmer mist to the environment. More detailed shooting information and a full size image can be seen in my Astrobin gallery .

I photographed this foggy area of Cepheus on the night between 30 / 31.10. There are several deep sky objects in the image area: the red glowing emission fog is Sh2-155, the dark fog is LDN 1210, and next to it is a reflection fog vdB 155. Briskly over half of the Moon interfered with shooting until midnight and brought its own challenges to image processing. More details and a full size image can be found in my Astrobin gallery .

I photographed this fog complex visible in the direction of Cepheus on two October nights. The dates were 16 / 17.10 and 20 / 21.10. The transparency of the sky was occasionally poor due to fog. More detailed shooting information and a full size image in my Astrobin gallery .

A dark mist B343 visible against a rich star field and illuminating nebulae photographed on the night of September 29-30. The weather was a bit bad and Kuukin bothered me, but this was still a nice little project. More information and full size image in my Astrobin gallery .

Here in Nurinniska, the first subject of the filming period was the western branch of Harsosumu. The exposure time totaled more than three hours, but the moisture condensed between the camera and the comma equalizer forced me to throw a large pile of squares out of the stack. That problem has been a nuisance in the past, but now it’s finally in treatment because I punched it in and installed a small heating mat in place. More information and a big picture in my Astrobin gallery .
