Another comet 64P / Swift-Gehrels was also filmed as a short clear section on Thursday night. 10 of these were taken. a series of 120-second L exposures, no more weather would have been enough. Like Wirtanen, this comet also appeared quite large, about 10 minutes of arc. The picture clearly shows maybe two very close jets of material to the left, slightly downhill. Image size 18 'x 23'. Photographers Anni and Esa Heikkinen and image processing Veli-Pekka Hentunen

Outgoing Wirtanen photographed with a CCD and digital wit. In the second CCD image, the stretch of the image is knocked out as much as possible so that the entire comet material becomes widely visible. Wirtanen fills almost the entire field of view, thus being at least 20 arc minutes in size and perhaps slightly egg-shaped, so the tail could be right downward. CCD images are 18 'x 23' in size. Illustrated by Anni and Esa Heikkinen, processing of CCD images Veli-Pekka Hentunen.

Northern lights have been seen in Varkaus for several evenings. The forecast pages are not necessarily these predictions, these were also described even though the predictions were not supposed to be anything very special to see.
