At least 10 lightning strikes seen

19.5.2014 at 23.59 - Siilinjärvi (III)

A couple of thunder cells circled that west side of the municipality, then I went hopefully to take pictures. Somehow there was a fuss, because the flash trigger only fired at three flashes. I followed closely with the camera even the plane that flew next to the cell to see if even one flash would hit it but nothing on that front either. More giffs .

Night thunder, thunder about 60 miles away. The number one image is not rubbish but a spider that came to marvel at the nocturnal hippopotamus.

Arja-Sisko Airila, Ursa (Etelä-Suomi)

The thunderstorm front rose promisingly dark from the south with lightning, but then passed my viewing point on the east side of the village of Liikola. Lightning came to be seen 14, a few handsome underground flashes, other cloudy flashes. Jyrinäkä was heard in the distance from afar, and not a drop of water rained. The temperature was still at 23 +20 degrees, sweating air. The picture of the cloud was already taken at 21.18, when the previous thunder passed my observation point also from the east. I couldn't save pictures of the flash with paperwork.

The thunder cloud moved very fast, I didn't know how to move according to the situation. The cloud moved east of the center of Mäntyharju towards Mikkeli. 1: avalanche cloud 2. Occupations 7. during the worst rainstorm there was a flashback or some cellan on that pole, I don't know the phenomenon in more detail. During a thunderstorm, I was in a telephone connection to Hirvensalmi 30 km away and it was found with a friend that the same lightning was seen, I saw them low in the north and a guy in the east. edit: 7 in the picture An imitation of red light made with paint, not an authenti...

This became a bit of a mixed spotting. Above the thunder, a avalanche cloud, undulatus asperatatus and a considerable dust storm before the rain were visible.

An avalanche or a roll of nuts, I put into an avalanche cloud. The panoramas didn’t really work out, there were bad seams left. You still have to try another program.

After all, that thunder front came here even further north. The loud lightning and thunder lasted for more than an hour, the rain still continues. With the shooting, there was normal adjustment again and at first it felt like nothing was going to work out. Of course, the lightning trigger was running out of batteries in the wake of winter, and many handsome flashes passed by. However, a few images now almost hit their seats. The front was also accompanied by a small avalanche cloud, the last picture of it. The images were cropped and adjusted anyway, they didn't flash in the middle of the ...

At least 10 lightning strikes seen

19.5.2014 at 17.30 - Seinäjoki (V)
Marko Myllyniemi, Lakeuden Ursa

The first wave of the day’s thunder front arrived just right at lunchtime, offering a pretty nice light show, even though it passed the place a little further afield. Whether a few dizzy people dared to climb on the roof of the building next door to admire the thunder, which now may not be the most sensible place in the thunder ... There were no pictures of the lightning, but some kind of flicker from the thunderstorm that passed.

Well, those night thunderstorms came from there:) In the evening, the monster cloud was already roaring. Just past the cat directly from the south, the flash show, which lasted just over 25 minutes, seems to have 21 flashes, which I counted. I even managed to grab a couple of cells. There was still a rumble, but there was so much water that filming was already starting to get a little challenging.

A fine thundercloud in the evening sun. Looks small in the picture when I had seen the same live. There was no way to fit the image with the 18 mm lens, the panorama had to be twisted. A couple of short videos in my Google Plus publications: A few-frame GIF animation for both Video 1 and Video 2 An automatic panorama by Google Photos.

It was a great first decent storm. Thunder began to be heard twenty minutes earlier as I hurriedly tuned to the bottom of the trampoline safety net and cleaned larger toys and belongings out of the storm from the yard. I walked with the camera to the edge of a nearby field to receive the musk and it progressed pretty quickly straight towards it. A nice avalanche began to form at the front edge of the cell and after a few minutes of shooting, it started to look like it would be better to move indoors. Just as I got in through the door, a reasonably strong downpour pushed on and threw branches a...

A thunderstorm strip rising from the south was received between Humppila and Forssa. Just before it hit, it split in half in the middle and felt like Moses. Suddenly a core punch to the perimeter and to the front of the active cell where the monster appeared properly. In the case of the avalanche, pollen and other mosquitoes rose into the air and the gusts shook the parked car quite briskly. Nice set especially for May.

A fine anvil cloud, according to the weather radar on Juva at 21:30, Pieksmäki is always around for some reason. Something like mammothing (?) In the second to last picture. Close-up contrast added moderately. I just noticed that Aki has put pictures of the same cloud as seen from Mikkeli: http://www.taivaanvahti.fi/observations/show/25831

A thunderstorm at the beginning of the season. My observation began in Jokioinen, there were two of us storm bongs opening their way through their cameras with cameras, offering a nice little lightning. However, I decided to go home, I stopped on the way to Kylmäkoski. It would have been worthwhile to be there a few minutes earlier, as the observation time was unnecessarily short due to the intense lightning that had already come too close, it only helped to jump into the car for protection. And then it started with a decent rumble with hail and gusts. All in all, a decent start to the season.

Thunder began to rumble in the early evening and one cloud almost came to the point where I was lucky to get a flash in the middle of the camera's field of view.
