Partial solar eclipse

10.6.2021 at 12.48 - 14.45 - Kauhava (IV)
Oskari Syynimaa, Lakeuden Ursa

In Kauhava you could watch a partial solar eclipse from a clear sky. It was hot, but I photographed the eclipse from start to finish. The pictures below were taken with Nikkor 200-500 optics and an ASI 290MM camera. Each of the images in the collage is stacked from two stacked partial images. The length of the videos was 30 seconds. First image colored in Photoshop. Towards the end of the blackout, I replaced the camera optics with a telescope, but the quality of the images was disappointing.

M45 and NGC 1499

29.12.2018 at 23.33 - 02.30 - Kauhava (III)
Oskari Syynimaa, Lakeuden Ursa

There is always a deep sky to try. The purpose was to photograph the Pleiades, the California fog, and the dust of the region. I was hoping to make the dust a little better visible, but the exposure was pretty low due to all the adjustments. Compared to how difficult it was to level the sky again, one must be satisfied with the result. Even the transparency towards the end clearly deteriorated. Light exposure 1 h 45 min, 120 and 180 second partial exposures

Starscape image

28.12.2018 at 23.21 - 00.26 - Kauhava (III)
Oskari Syynimaa, Lakeuden Ursa

A rap from Otava on the last shooting trip - and a couple more. I guess these are all going to the same release ... :) There was also a bit of dim northern lights.

Fogbow

28.12.2018 at 13.16 - Kauhava (II)
Oskari Syynimaa, Lakeuden Ursa

I was walking with the camera and attention was drawn to the brightness in the fog. I thought it was a piece of fog. As I walked the field road in the middle of the fog to a more spacious place, the whole arch became visible, albeit very weak. The camera image barely shows. Gloria was also visible :) The first image is a few screen panorama. The second single box, photographed a little earlier, made the glory more visible. The third image is a believed version of the first.

Milky way

6.10.2018 at 00.37 - Kauhava (IV)
Oskari Syynimaa, Lakeuden Ursa

An attempt to photograph the stars, mists and dusts of the Milky Way from the direction of Cassiopeia. This one was not left in Vahti in the autumn either. 46 minutes of light in 90 second increments.

Oskari Syynimaa, Lakeuden Ursa

Observation from autumn not left in the Sky Guard. Milky Way from Swan. The North American mist and butterfly mist are well visible. Here are just 19 minutes of light in minutes.

Bright night shining clouds

1.8.2018 at 01.15 - Kauhava (IV)
Oskari Syynimaa, Lakeuden Ursa

Illuminating night clouds wondering last night. The lower clouds were a bit on the road, but there were handsome Nights. Combined from eight images.

Moon

28.7.2018 at 23.10 - 00.15 - Kauhava (III)
Oskari Syynimaa, Lakeuden Ursa

Let me try to make such a summary picture of the rise of the Moon. There is always 5 minutes between images. I combined the images into a panorama in Photoshop :) Larger on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/138130833@N03/41896031400

Earth's shadow

18.7.2018 at 23.38 - Kauhava (III)
Oskari Syynimaa, Lakeuden Ursa

The shadow of the earth and the rays of twilight were so beautiful that I had to stop and try to grab some kind of panorama from the view. Stacked from 13 pictures. Larger on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/138130833@N03/29634254188/in/dateposted/

Moon

15.7.2018 at 18.57 - Kauhava (IV)
Oskari Syynimaa, Lakeuden Ursa

I got this nipple button on this couple of days old Moon photographed between the upper clouds on July 15th. In fact, there was a surprisingly good impression, as the weather was quite shaky and focusing was difficult due to the poor contrast. Eight-screen mosaic. The picture in black and white is of course black and white and the sky is twisted in reading black, but I made a colored version of the second picture ...: P Larger photos on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/138130833@N03/41635035000 https://www.flickr.com/photos/138130833@N03/42726599964

Moon

31.3.2018 at 00.34 - Kauhava (V)
Oskari Syynimaa, Lakeuden Ursa

Such a project has been underway for some time. So the intention was to make a "crater map" of the Moon, that is, to get shadows all over the surface at once. It succeeded by taking suitable pieces from several images taken from different phases of the moon. These were all mosaic images with nice resolution - although some of them are shot in a slightly weaker weather ... It was not quite simple to combine the images together due to changes in the position of the Moon. The pictures first had to be somehow in the same position. So I measured the partial images in WinJupos and made a map of each...

Moon

20.3.2018 at 20.11 - Kauhava (III)
Oskari Syynimaa, Lakeuden Ursa

The crescent moon was nicely visible in the evening sky, so I decided to try photographing the Nikkor country with 200-500 millimeters. That's where the detail stands out. I guess the stars are already streaked even at 0.6 second exposure without tracking.

Rare halos

17.3.2018 at 13.23 - 13.35 - Kauhava (IV)
Oskari Syynimaa, Lakeuden Ursa

Well huh, what halos! The filming was now left in the middle and the wider angle lens was fast catching on to the camera: D As an inexperienced halo photographer, I just flipped pictures from here to here and tried to record everything to the best of my ability ... I marked all the halos I identified. The 46 ° overhang or the 46 ° arc is also at least there, but I can't say which one. Also, 22 ° above the side is there seems to be some arc? In any case, by far the best halo play that has happened to me and at least two new halo forms on the list :) Muoks: I added another picture processed ...

Quiet aurora arc

14.3.2018 at 21.29 - 22.09 - Kauhava (II)
Oskari Syynimaa, Lakeuden Ursa

I went for a little northern lights walk with the camera. They were quite dim, though sometimes something brighter was torn somewhere between the trees.

Moon

1.3.2018 at 22.00 - Kauhava (V)
Oskari Syynimaa, Lakeuden Ursa

The full moon mosaic has been in dreams for a long time, and on March 1 it finally succeeded :) The sharper weather could have been, but quite good. 25 pieces assembled. Larger image (approx. 75% of the original): https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4754/26725324938_4e6724a8b4_o.jpg

Moon

21.2.2018 at 18.25 - 18.50 - Kauhava (V)
Oskari Syynimaa, Lakeuden Ursa

Again, a text of a mosaic of the Moon. Day 21 was just a nice calm weather. 20 degrees below zero but it was already starting to be quite uncomfortable to stand still for a long time ... :) This piled up of 15 pieces. Full size: https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4631/40459212411_2d967d7da9_o.jpg

One halo form

5.12.2017 at 21.15 - Kauhava
Oskari Syynimaa, Lakeuden Ursa

I went to the northern lights on the evening of the 5th. There wasn't really anything weird about the dim gait this time, but there were some nice side suns at times. In the second picture, maybe a little 22 ° of the top of the tire is visible, but I'm not sure about it ...

Moon

6.11.2017 at 23.56 - Kauhava (V)
Oskari Syynimaa, Lakeuden Ursa

Hot mosaic compiled from 18 images. It was a nice weather like this :) At higher magnification there was a softer impression ... The cliff of Rupes Altai is nicely visible in this lighting and I think the edges of the Nectaris collision basin are pretty well perceptible anyway ... So Rupes Altai is visible as a meandering shadow from Mare Nectaris to the lower left. Full-size image (7031x6249px): https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4585/37625159274_5411fd40d8_o.jpg
