Surface halo at the same time, in the same tree as 19 days earlier . Again in a briskly darkened image. Although now the darkening doesn't help the visualization either. Well, to the statistics, this case too.

Last Saturday, several different halos were visible in the fairly dense ice fog, the brightest of which was the 22 overhead arc. However, the most special was a very diffuse colorless arc, which was quite sharply defined, roughly estimated at a distance of about 80 degrees from the sun. The highest point of the arch reached to the sky. I don't know if the arc is the right term for that halo, because it seemed more like the border of the ice crystals flickering, so that you could see crystals on the side of the sun and significantly less immediately outside the arc.

Artificial light poles from the lights of the goods terminal along the Turku ring road. A bit clunky, but still

The fog cloud revealed a brighter sky for a moment and a V-shaped halo was visible there. (22°ylläs+Parry) There were no halos in the rest of the sky. Gradually became more blurred. The opening in the fog lasted for approx. 5 minutes and then ice crystals started to feel on the face as the sky receded into a gray veil again.

Walking with the dog in Launee Central Park. Ice fog sparkled in the air. First I noticed the sun above the V, then more. The first picture was taken with a mobile phone with a wide-angle setting. Horizon corrected, no other processing. Another picture zoomed in with a mobile phone. Shortly after the second photo, fog began to cover the sun. Added a picture taken in the other direction, with faint Y.

An afternoon walk in Porvoo with ice fog in the air. Soon the halo formed and all the ice cristals were glimmering from ground to sky. It was an awe-inspiring moment.

There were ice crystals in the air and a rare number of halo forms began to appear in Launee. First, a goblet-like shape of light was visible (second picture). For a moment, a remarkable number of different halo forms burst into the sky. Also on the other side of the sky, near the Lahti radio masts, a strange line of light was visible, but I didn't get a good picture of it.

On Järvenselka, a low ice fog raft was visible, where shortly after sunrise, a faint anti-sun (or what I interpreted as such a phenomenon) stood out. The sight didn't last long, but when I left the parkrun cafe later, I could see a neat 22 overhead door. It didn't last long either! I think that with a little more active positioning and timing there would have been opportunities for a better play, but today we went with these. The second picture has been slightly adjusted, the others are made by the phone's automation as it is.

I was walking in the winter meadow at the edge of the forest and tried to locate where the faint tapping of a woodpecker could be heard. There was a tiny mist of ice floating in the air. I turned and saw an orange halo in the sky in the shape of a big V. The branches of V bent outward from the top. I wondered and described it with my cell phone.. The halo got stronger and weaker alternately. Then the red sun appeared from the horizon and from it rose a pillar of the sun in that capital letter V. As the pillar brightened, V weakened. The handsome and deafening performance lasted about 20 minute...
