Astrophotography trip to Liesjärvi National Park to Kyynäränharju, which is one of the best observation spots in Southern Finland due to its darkness. Expectations were rewarded when there was a calm starry night. We filmed the Milky Way and the northern lights, and my friend and I enjoyed the atmosphere. The stars reflected beautifully in the calm lake. The impressive Ajomiehe constellation was suitably steep, so that it could be reflected in its entirety from the surface of the water. That's why I thought I'd put a picture of it here - among the current aurora borealis and milky way ...

The thin crescent moon and the ground were visible nicely in the darkening evening.

For a long time, a starry evening / night, so I decided to leave the lights of the SME behind and head for the darkness of Liejärvi National Park. The courtyard and beach of Korteniemi's traditional farm provided a great setting and the starry sky did its best. Orion always tones it but :)

The planet Mars has wandered high in the southern sky this fall. At best, it seems to appear even brighter than Jupiter. In the pictures below, composed of the Espoo pond landscape. Yes, it easily stands out from the stars.

Nice activity at these latitudes. For many years, such strong fires have not struck. I don't set a record by the water, but it also works as seen from the field :)

A successful shooting trip to the starry sky to Teijo National Park on Kalasunt Island, beyond expectations. New moon time and weather favored. In addition, the selected object turned out to be a surprisingly dark place. The Milky Way was handsome to the naked eye and the perfectly calm lake mirrored the stars - it was dazzlingly beautiful. At some point, the fog took over the landscape, which again created a different tone. It is not often possible for me and my tour friends, both from the SME region, to get to this. Great experience!

Little northern lights in Espoo as well. I had been sitting on the shore of Saarijärvi for the third hour, a moment earlier I was already leaving home. Then an active arc appeared on the horizon for a moment, mirroring beautifully on the surface of the calm lake. Fortunately, the filming was still ready. That "flare" lasted no more than a couple of minutes.

As autumn approaches, the constellations of Pohjan Kruunu and Karhunvartija are well displayed in the west-northwest. In southern Finland, darkness is already beginning to suffice for landscape constellations. The brightest constellations are easy to spot when the stars are not yet visible "too much". :)

In the evening, I hoped to toddle the difficult forest path. The trip had to be folded for a couple of kilometers (dodging toads) to the beautiful Saaren-Musta pond. Would there be illuminating night clouds? Well, they started to stand out around midnight, and by 1 o'clock they were already reflected handsomely at the base of the pond. There were a few norm clouds in front of it and the sky was a bit hazy, but still the dim night cloud gauze was visible up to the zenith. Atmospheric summer night. The cuckoos and loons accompaniment with their mecca :) The last picture in the series from th...

The first really handsome show this summer that I didn’t quite miss. I woke up by chance at 1 o'clock and peeked out, well in the field I had to go grab a few pictures and back to the bed. Fortunately, the holiday is about to begin. Mostly have to go for a night out :)

I was on a night trip with a friend in Porkkalanniemi when the illuminating night clouds surprised me. The little ones, but quite bright at the time, drink in the northeast. This "season" came in half after an accident :)

I made a star trip to Liesjärvi National Park because the weather forecast certainly looked clear and the moon didn’t bother me. There you can already find reasonably dark areas based on the light pollution map. And yes, that Orion about quite grabbed the pictures. The Venus planet is also attached (picture 1) Successful trip! :) Good conditions and a sufficiently dark observation point cannot be overemphasized.

The visibility of Venus is now beginning to be at its best. It literally illuminates an otherwise gloomy landscape :)

Orion's thienoo was handsome and I had time to get to the scene with a nipple nappa before the clouds. The calm lake mirrored nicely. The black winter in southern Finland brings out the starry sky well :)

Venus steals attention in the evening sky this winter. Not to be missed :) That evening the landscape would also be illuminated by the moon.

Saarijärvi in Espoo is a surprisingly good dark place for observing / photographing the night sky right next to the SME region. The view from the public beach opens to the west, and I think you can get pretty pictures of the sparsely wooded beach. In the autumn, the belt of the Milky Way is formed above the lake, on winter evenings the main part is played by the constellation Orion, which is now topical due to the dimming of one of its main stars, Betelgeuze. I have noticed that myself.

Orion has now spoken to one of his main stars due to the considerable dimming of Betelgeuze. In the picture I got a handsome constellation reflected on the surface of the lake. Peaceful winter joys :)

Apparently that "Steve arc" grabbed my pictures too, even though otherwise the mood remained mild from the night. Yes, I was amazed when a separate flame brightened in the west-northwest, but I only realized what it was all about when I looked at the observations of others. Nice up :)
