Photo from Jyväskylä's maximum moment at 13:20:58; in front of the sun, a small area of thin upper cloud, temperature barely on the plus side.

A nice, strong northern lights show despite the bright moonlight. The oval expanded several times over the zenith and was at its location only thirty degrees from the southern horizon at its best. In the corona stages, red, purple, and blue also appeared in the structures. The temperature was only slightly on the frost side, but the wind was blowing fresh. The sky was cloudless throughout the observation period.

When the value of the Kp index was predicted to be as high as seven - that is, the best for several years - and only partly cloudy clouds and even a clear sky in the morning were forced around Vaasa, we had to try our luck. Korsnäsin tienoo was finally chosen as the place of observation, where I was on call from nine in the evening to half past four in mild eight-degree weather. As for the repos, however, things didn’t go as I had hoped. Only very rarely did the small-scale thinnings lasting up to a couple of minutes enter the cloud cover, and a large storm of repos, considered almost certain,...

The show started reasonably promising, soon after nine o'clock, but a fairly dense cloud cover spread to the scene as early as an hour later. Expectations were higher.

A heavy downpour swept over Jyväskylä and the sun was shining behind it - as many times before this summer. Apologies for the bumpy panorama!

Wider and brighter than the previous bridge: the nights were widely visible on the northern sky before midnight and from there they brightened and strengthened so that they extended from 1-2 east to west at 1-2 o'clock and the upper limit was at its best in zenith. In the west there was a laundry board, otherwise the shapes were mainly different types of gauze. The movement and shape changes were quite rapid. It seemed to be as high as 16 degrees and the air was calm.

The petty night cloud show celebrated a great summer night. From the northeastern horizon, by midnight, a nocturnal area began to rise, which by two o'clock expanded slightly to the northwest and to a maximum of about 20 degrees. There was a small formation in Rusko on the northwestern horizon for a long time. The other, easternmost part of the show was covered behind the forest at this observation site. Whatever it was while enjoying the views and moods - the owl carried the prey in front of me and the bats went to thin out the swarm of mosquitoes near the shoreline. The temperature was 1...

There may have been nights in a wider area, but the rest of the clouds covered the sky.

In Koti-Jyväskylä, the northern sky was quite cloudy at midnight, so I dared to drive even further north, and Äänekoski was quite clear. However, even at this darkest hour, the northern sky was so bright that it was impossible for me to detect NEOWISE, or a little behind it. Sure, Capella was visible to the naked eye and Menkalina, especially with my little binoculars, but the comet's observation was very fragile: a couple, three times I think I saw it extremely weakly with binoculars, but I can't be sure. I took pictures in the best shotgun shooting style and will add a snapshot to th...

For at least half an hour we got to admire this show. The water was so sprinkled that the surface of the 14mm front lens was allowed to dry whenever the memory.
