Zodiacal light

19.3.2017 at 21.20 - Mustasaari (III)
Timo Alanko, Vaasan Andromeda

You can see that Zoo Track light here even at the height of Vaasa. In Raippaluoto, enough light-free place was found to hunt it. When it got dark enough, the phenomenon was visible quite visually. Best with the side eye. On the back of the camera, it stands out quite clearly. Undeniably, the impression flattens in the big picture. The weather was great, and most of the time was spent filming the Milky Way. Perhaps I still have my own observations on that. The calm belt of northern lights interrupted filming in a northerly direction, but this west was quite calm.

Yes. The zodiac light season is then elevated for this spring! There is a dark place in Raippaluoto. After all, it makes you stand out even when you know the right direction. :)

Zodiacal light

Yr.no promised an opening to the clouds in the Vaasa region tonight. So I would go to Raippaluoto to see if the zodiac light season had already started for this spring. That's where it seems to flaunt to the left on the left side of the Milky Way. Keli wasn’t the brightest possible effort, so the shape isn’t quite as clear as in my previous spring photos. Visually, however, it already stood out on the spot. Something truly strange happened in one of the Milky Way images. I make my own observation about it ...

Actually, already when we left Vaasa, it was noticed that it was going to be challenging. The purpose was to describe the encounter between the zodiac light and the Milky Way. Not only noticed taking into account the moon. Well the scenery and the Milky Way was quite nice to photograph when the sky was suitably open and seeing a surprisingly good moment. Although the image had to be almost counterbalanced with respect to the Moon, one could, with a good imagination, perceive the location of the zodiac light from a few images, at least a little. Here is perhaps the clearest attempt of them. The...

A quick glance out in the hope of the northern lights. Not them, but an unusual black sky visible. Now he couldn't drive to Raippaluoto. The backyard forest is worth it. Yes, I think that zodiac light can be seen from these pictures taken in the Urban Area as well. This time photographed at 24 millimeters. Oddly enough, the clouds immediately disturbed ... One of the satellites quickly glared at one of the images. I also noticed a small meteor visually, but it didn't have time to grab the cell unnecessarily fast and dim. By the way, it seems that the zodiac always stands out best on th...

Once again this spring zodiac light. Described in the city. Seems to be a bit of a mobile target. Not much different from a zodiac light on a computer screen. On the phone, the image is so dense that the outline brings light shine and color better.

Despite the freezing wind, the opportunity for filming was well taken advantage of. It was known that light is challenging this year, at least visually. It also felt difficult for the camera. Well, at least some documentation for this spring as well. Thumbnail that works much better than a computer screen

Zodiacal light

25.2.2020 at 20.00 - Vaasa, Rapatunturi (III)
Timo Alanko, Vaasan Andromeda

I tested a bit of zodiac light shooting in urban conditions. Rapatunturi (Gerby Hill) is a filling hill within the residential area. In the shooting direction towards the Kvarken, however, it is inhabited only a few hundred meters wide. Surprisingly well, the glow was excavated. I also composed the Raippaluoto bridge for the main picture. On the left side of the second picture, the Wasalines ship leaves for Umeå. The triangle image presents light pollution more on the edge of the city center. Images are unprocessed camera jpegs.

What a handsome evening! Notta was! Combo a bit from here and there. There is a bridge between the Moon, Venus and Sirius, a zodiacal light and a Milky Way, a country house, spiced with selfi. It's great when there are occasional hobbies! I enjoyed Gerby on the boat shore. The street lights behind the back didn't slow down much.

If you reach too far into the zodiac light, you can bump into the molten Venus Bridge! Now the conditions were in Strömsö as in Strömsö :)

The clear weather promised and this time was true. Then we drove 27 km to the middle stages of Raippaluoto under the dark sky. Then, in the fresh 19-degree frost, the zodiac light was admired quite visually. Less often it is about clearly distinguished. The camera stood in the middle of the fog, but didn't seem to bother much. So the season started here too :) #bongaa100

I went as an experiment to photograph the Zodiac Light in a clearly more polluted place in the home corner. Visually, the glow was hard to perceive, but I photographed it so as received. The exposures had to be clearly shortened compared to Björköby's trip, and the orbit did not stand out much. The last time was clearly on the other side of that glowing Raippaluoto agglomeration in the second picture. Now there the clouds would have bothered the photographer.

The intention was to try to gegenschein the picture. The light pollution of Koivulahti and Oravaisten only made that attempt impossible even at that time. So we had to settle for zodiac light. There seems to be an urban light in the direction of Panike that interferes with the right side of the track light. Lastly, it luckily drowned in the mist. When we returned home, I still had to try to get the zodiac light and Raippaluoto into the joint portrait of it, but it was just a doomed idea! The lighting of the pylons totally obscured the track light in the right direction.

Yes. So spring places. Zoo light season opened in Raippaluoto, standard location. That's where it fills again towards Seoul. As a bonus image, a calm repo arch on the north side.

Yaogan

28.9.2019 at 04.00 - Vaasa (IV)
Timo Alanko, Vaasan Andromeda

Gopro preyed on the Yaogans in the night shift as well. When did they flash on Vaasa? Gopro was in the time of the cow bell. I can't find any information about Heavensabov either. Is there a fireball in the second pair of pictures, or a satellite too? Timing is not yet successful. Help with information about Yaogans ...

Color clouds The sky opened in a freezing cold wind in the afternoon. As I drove home from work, the thin clouds glowing in front of the sun with sunglasses looked nice. The best moment to get to the backyard was over, but I waited a moment with the polarization filter and got something more for the cell. I made a small animation of a few minutes of events.

Color clouds I wondered if there would be halos available. There were none, but clouds of color were found around the Sun with a polarizing filter.

7.5.2017 at 12.00 - Ilmajoki (II)
Timo Alanko, Vaasan Andromeda

On the way south from Vaasa, we were entertained by the brilliant colors in the upper clouds. I had to stop many times to photograph them. The pictures just don’t sadly do them justice. They are taken with the phone through the lens of the sunglasses. One can only imagine what the sky above Laihia and Ilmajoki would have looked like if those lower clouds had not been disturbing. Now the colored clouds above were admired only by the cracks in the clouds. Live, they were really beautiful.

Stunning colors in the clouds in Vaasa Sky! Does it just bring a top cloud, or would it already go to the pearl spike? The colors were already visible organic, even without sunglasses :)

The afternoon cocktail in the sky of Vaasa included halo, clouds of color and maybe also KH ... Here's the share of color clouds.
