On Järvenselka, a low ice fog raft was visible, where shortly after sunrise, a faint anti-sun (or what I interpreted as such a phenomenon) stood out. The sight didn't last long, but when I left the parkrun cafe later, I could see a neat 22 overhead door. It didn't last long either! I think that with a little more active positioning and timing there would have been opportunities for a better play, but today we went with these. The second picture has been slightly adjusted, the others are made by the phone's automation as it is.

Quite an insignificant arc above the sun, but seemed pyramidal enough for a stacking exercise. One set of 50 images and heavy-handed blurring gives such a result. I'll mark this as 23° parhelia now, although I guess that 22° could go as well. Let maintenance fix it if it's on.

The conditions seemed favorable in terms of rainbows, so I took the Kaari dog for an evening walk in the open scenery of Joutjärvi's shore. The heaviest rain managed to recede to the east, but rainbow phenomena were visible for quite a long time in the end. The dim and faint reflection rainbow inspired me to photograph with extraordinary devotion: if my memory serves me correctly, this was only my second personal observation of this rare phenomenon (the first one happened two years earlier, see https://www.taivaanvahti.fi/observations/show/91715 ). With the highest of hopes, I even took se...

Artificial light pillars were visible in many places in the Lahti Urban Area, and I drove around looking for denser ice mist. On the outskirts of Joutjärvi church, the fog was already quite dense and the side lamps with their 3D effects were visible on all the slightly brighter lanterns. I found the best view in the yard of a warehouse building in a nearby industrial area, and there I was quietly focused on filming. The top suns here were the brightest I have ever seen. I took a series of pictures from a few different places so I was also able to vary the height of the light source somewhat. F...

Spending a summer evening on the pier got a turn of the eye after hitting the reflected cloud rays (Figure 2; cell phone sample 2021). The SLR was ready for shooting about three minutes later, when there was not much of the reflected rays left. Instead, in the direction of the sun, a group of possible reflection sub-sun stripes (main image) was now visible. I will also accept alternative interpretations, if any are offered. The strips were only visible for a moment: there is a time difference of 30 seconds between the first and triple images. Just over an hour later, the situation allowed us t...

A halo play in Lahti and its southern section. The train jerked off at 7:49 and the recording of what happened after that is unfortunately not particularly salable now - and from the beginning I was just relying on a cell phone camera. There is a dim reference to the 18 ° and 23 ° parchelias, the rest going to the front of conventional, albeit bright, basic shapes. The whole-sky play, which will be shown later in the day, will become a separate report.

The moderately distinct 46 ° overhead inspired me to take more pictures, although in the 22 ° direction nothing really stood out to the eye. The stack has five minutes of data and thirty images. The color channel treatment (Figure 2) reveals even a fairly far-reaching left branch at 22 ° upstream. With a different ranking, the play could have been pretty spectacular. Side suns did not appear in the image until the very end of the observation (Figure 3).

Stacking practice with a small-scale play. 21 single images over four minutes. A single shot in a triangular image. Pretty basic oats in all.

Let’s continue halo april on a modest single halo shape line. At least for the fourth day of observation, however.

A dim and ragged 22 ° ring appeared in the evening after the darker clouds that defined the day had dissipated.

Wavy, attention-grabbing clouds. Let's see the same things that Eero Karvinen also described. https://www.taivaanvahti.fi/observations/show/97364

Small-scale local hiking on a shopping trip. The side suns showed colors and structure as well, otherwise there was mostly loose crystal flicker at the traditional tile crystal shapes.

Ice mist and lamp drops around Pikku Vesijärvi. Lack of abundance of lanterns, from the dark background sky and earth that second shortage, In the Urban Area when we are. The overhanging arch (along with the pillar, of course) is the most dominant shape and the side lamps play a complementary role this time around. The pictures I took of the dipped lamps, and especially the stacks I made of them, show a series of arcs rising diagonally from the lamp. Main image 10x30 seconds stack from 21:11 to 21:20. Top suns, the solar arc, as well as the third oblique arc are perhaps the most special featur...

The play developed quietly as I walked towards the lake shore, my main purpose being to check the canvas situation. After reaching the corners of the passenger harbor, the 46 overhangs were at their brightest and longest, and the dim curves of the counter-sun direction stood out as soon as the horizon gave way. The lower solar arc came along soon, however, on one side: to the west, the sky was already covered by a central cloud board. Soon the middle cloud was already holding the whole lollipop, the last rips briefly showed the horizon ring and possibly 120 side sun. I'm not quite sure now...

Reima Eresmaa, Ursa (Helsinki)
In the penthouse of an apartment building in Kuopio spending quarantine days. The outlook is downright rewarding! Quite as expected, a rainbow came out while the rain was already passing by. Quite unexpectedly, the first stage of the show is dominated by a reflection rainbow with a dim reflection side rainbow. These remained visible for perhaps a dozen minutes without any signs of other rainbow phenomena — there may have been clouds in the direction of the sun that appropriately prevented direct sunlight from hitting the raindrops. The actual main rainbow (with its very weak side arch; Figure ...
