Keijo Toikkanen, Keski-Uudenmaan Altair

Today in the Sun there is a roar of M1.6 at about 4 pm It came from a large comma group in 2192.

Sun

26.10.2014 at 12.49 - Hankasalmi, Murtoinen (V)
Arto Oksanen, Jyväskylän Sirius

X2-class flare eruption observed in the sun with the Hankasalmi Observatory radio telescope. The eruption occurred just when the Sun was “hidden” behind a tree, so handling the observation was a bit difficult. The observation has corrected the attenuation caused by the tree using the previous day's measurement. X-ray classification X2.0, comma group 2192.

Juha Ojanperä, Porin Karhunvartijat

A giant sunspot AR2192 on the surface of our near star. When I made the observation, the Sun was already quite low, but I still managed to make the observation! Because the sun was low, seeing was pretty crappy because of this. The dot was also visible to the naked eye as I looked through the sun filter.

Sun

25.10.2014 at 10.55 - Helsinki (IV)
Antoine Chauveau, Ursa (Helsinki)

I had to take my own picture of the comma group 2192 even though the weather was anything but perfect. Shooting for a period of about 10 min, whenever the sun showed a little through the gauze. Despite the clouds, a valid outcome came after processing.

Sun

24.10.2014 at 10.45 - Helsinki (II)
Toni Veikkolainen, Keski-Uudenmaan Altair

I hadn’t been able to capture the biggest spot of the current sunspot period yet, and when the weather forecasts looked like a cloudy weekend, I decided to carry my shooting equipment to work. Shooting through the varying upper and middle clouds had its own problems, and refining the mirror from the hand was anything but easy. However, I managed to get some sort of image before the Cloudiness strengthened and made filming possible.

Sun

24.10.2014 at 10.48 - Hankasalmi, Murtoinen (V)
Arto Oksanen, Jyväskylän Sirius
