Visibility III / V
It has been quite gray this month for the northern lights. The clouds were endless, or if clear weather happened to be then the northern lights were dim. Corona mass eruptions will pass the earth or if they hit then the sky will certainly be cloudy. This evening, too, began quite pessimistically. Now, for three evenings, large kp values had been predicted, which never materialized. Even clear weather had been promised for most of the evening, but it was at least four hours in the cloud. I was already thinking about treading home, enough fresh air had accumulated for one day. However, I still waited an hour and the sky cleared. The bright large arc of northern lights were nicely reflected from the surface of Lake Ruuhijärvi in Salla. Usually it's time to notice the northern lights there, but we saw a teenage girl watching them somewhere nearby, at least there was a shout "OMG!"
