Visibility III / V
I spent the DS night and as the last target of the night at half past four I thought I would still take a picture of the comet 29P / Schwassmann-Wachmann, even though Cartes reported the target with a brightness of 15.4mag. The surprise was quite when the big blob was in the middle of a 4 second focus image! After a short google, it became apparent that there had been an eruption in the comet about weekly on September 25: https://skyandtelescope.org/astronomy-news/comet-29p-undergoes-brightest-outburst-in-recent-years/
Definitely follow the comet if the weather allows. I estimate the brightness to be about 10mag, and the size of the Koma to be about 50 "
First image of the body hour exposure in minute clips, another size 12 "F4 + Atik314L field of view and the false color image shows a thin (hydrogen cloud?) With a size of 2'40"
The comet is delayed at a distance of 5.9AU from the Sun between the orbits of Jupiter 5.0AU and Saturn 9.9AU.
