Variable star V808 Aurigae - 11.11.2021 at 00.46 - 11.11.2021 at 05.16 Hankasalmi, Murtoinen Observation number 102237

Visibility I / V

Arto Oksanen, Jyväskylän Sirius

Located in the driver's constellation, the polar variable V808 Aur is bright (high state). The star is a compact binary star in which a highly magnetic white dwarf star orbits an ordinary star from which matter flows into the white dwarf. The light curve shows deep eclipses every two hours as the white dwarf covers behind the companion star. Before dark, there are (sometimes, not always) dims in the light curve that result from the flow of matter in front of the white dwarf. Astrophysically very interesting object.
