Binocular comet Leonard - 3.12.2021 at 04.30 - 3.12.2021 at 05.30 Janakkala, Tervakoski Observation number 102739

Visibility IV / V

Petri Kuossari, Riihimäen tähtit. yhdistys

Luckily I didn’t believe the weather reports and I put a tube to cool out the night before going to bed. The clock was waking up at four in the morning, a glance out the window and a positive surprise as the stars appeared in the sky. Quick dress and 12 degree frost to align the tube. With Bakhtinov's mask, the Arcturus star is focused and the comet Leonard is bursting from the thrill. Wow that's it now with a wonderfully open ball set M3. I take 1-2 minutes of exposure for about half an hour until I take out the Optolong L-Pro filter and continue for another half hour

I was still compiling a gif video (note I varied the angle of view).

Onnea. Erityinen kiitos animaatiosta.

Kiitos Paula
