Visibility III / V
At the huts, the sky looked cloudy, so I watched the northern lights from the sky cameras early in the evening. Immediately after nine, a dune revolution appeared at the western end of the diffuse arc in the Tampere camera. At times, the eye could be distinguished from the wave formation directly in the northern direction of the camera view, but the waves seemed wider, which makes perfect sense considering the viewing angle. There were also dunes on the western edge of the Hankasalmi camera - I saw them until 9:30 p.m. At that point, the little birds sang that there are openings in the clouds in Kuopio as well, so we had to start moving! I didn’t make it to the scene, but this time the open north view wasn’t even needed, as the Northern Lights rose to zenith. You haven't often had to twist the camera straight up here! I was able to admire the development of the corona from 22.20-22.24. The repos shone with the Moon. In one picture, however, the Moon was hidden behind the trees. Soon the clouds hid it again.
