Visibility Unclassified
I went through 14.1.-16.1. photos of the Northern Lights of the weekend and I woke up to the light pillar of light in the pictures about northwest, i.e. in the picture on the left. To my recollection, it was dimly visible. Now I am interested to know its origin. Could it be a Steve light phenomenon? The pictures would show to have a reddish / purple toned top unless my eyes were completely lying.
I made a timelapse animation from the pictures. I am an amateur in their making so apologies. Also, the image quality is not ideal for magnification. The images have only been edited so that I have dropped the brightness, slightly increased the contrast and removed the noise. I haven't touched the colors to make them as authentic as possible.
