Visibility V / V
A night of great fun, already at 18:45 the first sighting was seen but shortly after the darkness set in the Aurora vanished and was very diffused for a couple of hours. During this time we played about with various locations, enjoyed a fire and drank coffee.
The night was still young at midnight and we found some open waters and hoped for reflections, but this proved hard with the Aurora above the head.
So lets drive and find a better location, but the drive was cut short when the sky started to light up and around 01:30 a corona formed over head.
After the corona and Aurora faded about 20 minutes later the sky was flashing rapidly with explosive pink, green and red Aurora. Visually this was just amazing. I have spent many years in lapland chasing Aurora but this has to be one of the greatest Aurora displays I have seen.
