Visibility II / V
I went to the switch because the repo values were reasonable and it was likely that a substorm or pair would show up and it was also clear. When I got the camera focused, a diffuse arc appeared over the arc of northern lights and it was visible from about 10:16 pm to 10:26 pm (part of the time to the eye, the rest to the camera). Meanwhile, beneath the diffuse, turquoise green arc was marked by a small, pretty substorm. As the arc faded away, the recovery phase of the storm began and beautiful red rays rose into the sky for a moment. The arc of northern lights survived in the sky for several hours, but did not properly get enough kick in a proper substorm. I watched the arc fade until half past two, when the arc disappeared from view.
