Visibility I / V
It was the kind of day to cut off the branches and cut off the top.
For the rest of the week, the forecast was that the Turku region, among other things, would experience thunderstorms on Saturday. And so it happened. After two, I saw the first flashes, right from my backyard. There was a rush. But where are the camera batteries and shutter release? Nowhere. In pain, I wandered around the house, I dug through the back boxes of cars and other things. Can not find. I was already leaving for work to check if they had stayed there. Well, in the end the stuff was found under the cushion of the armchair... So there was nothing to do but get out. The cell was weakened, but somewhere in the distance it gave a few blows, judging by the sound. I stood in the meadow for an hour and determined the situation. The cell was dead. Really saddened.
However, hope was not lost, because the forecast maps showed a nice lump for Turku. The rain radar just showed blank. But then a thunder cloud just started to appear between Turku and Raisio. I looked at the map for a while and estimated that in about an hour it might sweep over Lieto. I continued to follow the radar and noted that the area is getting stronger and the lightning is accelerating. I set off, this time with all my camera equipment, towards the thundercloud.
And it was great. The front was a deep blue, constantly rumbling, gloomy dark wall. The avalanche was wonderfully layered and bursting with details. The lightning flashed and the noise was a mess. The best flashes came from the lump in the direction of Turku. There must be some cool places in Ruisrock...
I filmed the approaching avalanche for about half an hour until it started to hit the port. I quickly left under the rain to the car and drove towards the center of Lieto. I stopped in between to snap pictures of the car's fenders. There was a wonderful twinkle, especially in the clouds.
After getting close to the center, I drove to a nearby meadow, from where I could admire the cloud flashes visible behind the looming front. Jyminä was almost non-stop. I was shaking with excitement, joy and cold. About a couple of hours of dawn in the rain began to have an effect. Finally, the rainbow paid a quick visit and it started to be over. I went home.
After the sauna, I went to cool off and there was something to photograph again in the yard. Shockingly wonderful mammations. Grab the camera and the edge of the field.
Now I feel exhausted, the places are burning and the cold is shaking my body. Above all, however, the feeling is amazingly good! We saw a kind of thunder that doesn't happen every year. Actually, it seems like ten years have passed since such a beautiful avalanche.
An incredible day.

Hieno setti, komea vyöry!
Kiitos. Tuo läpäisevä huippu muuten ei ollut näkyvillä näissä kuvissa olleessa pilvessä, vaan meren päällä illalla lipuneessa solussa. Tämä antoi myös muutaman kalevantulen.
