Visibility III / V
At Råberget in Kopparnäs, the evening darkened and the stars began to appear more and more. I took test photos in different directions and there was a clear aurora arc in the north right from 10:30 p.m. The arc split into two superimposed arcs and soon after that the first rays started to rise. Sometimes it was calm and the arch fell into place until it started dancing again. At first, the arch stood out only in the camera pictures (15 sec. exposure), but in clear moments you can follow the dance with your eyes. The abundance of purple was also nice. Steve was nowhere to be seen, although the pillars were so high from time to time that he might have appeared as well. This was enough until at least 3:30, but then fatigue hit and I had to go to the tent to sleep for the rest of the night. However, there were about 700 photos from Repo. Quite a rewarding trip.
