Visibility V / V
I photographed the Large Magellanic Cloud on a moonless night in the middle of the rural darkness here in Australia. The Large Magellanic Cloud is located near the South Pole and is never visible in Finland or even in Europe. Both Magellanic Clouds are visible throughout the Australian summer high in the southern sky.
The object is really spectacular and the bar structure of the galaxy can be seen with the naked eye. In the sky, the object's apparent diameter is almost 20 times that of the Moon. For example, compared to the Andromeda galaxy, the Magellanic clouds are really easy to see with the naked eye in a dark place.

Onpa hieno. Pääsisipä itsekin joskus näkemään.
Kiitos, Matti! Eteläinen taivas on todellakin näkemisen arvoinen. Lisäksi voin lämpimästi suositella Australiaa matkakohteena :)
Kääk! Onpas upea kuva.
Kiitokset kehuista Petrus! :)
