Visibility I / V
C/2022 L2 (ATLAS) The hyperbolic comet was imaged on the first night of the 2023 May talcos. ATLAS Mauna Loa (T08 – ATLAS-MLO, Mauna Loa) discovered the Oort cloud comet on June 10, 2022 as a 18.4 mag target. The perihelion comet will arrive on March 12, 2024 at 2.69au. When photographing, the comet was 3.3178au in Hercules and at its closest on April 5, 2024 at a distance of 1.81 AU, estimated at T9.5 mag.
