Saturn - 18.9.2023 at 00.10 Vantaa, Pähkinärinne Observation number 118755

Visibility II / V

Paula Wirtanen, Ursa (Helsinki)

The purpose was also to photograph Saturn. It was almost an attempt, there was something bad in the sky in that direction as well. Fortunately, over the years, Saturn is also rising higher in the sky, which makes it easier to spot.

In general, it is easy to visually distinguish the moons around Saturn with my equipment, at least Titan. Now it didn't make any difference either, seeing Cassini's split naturally also remained a dream. So we have to come back to photographing Saturn again. However, dear audience and Skywatchers: here is my first picture of Saturn. The rings stand out, as does the equatorial zone, which is clearly light. That's it. Cassini's distribution shows a slight fading, but the end result was quite a mess.

Kyllä tällä kehtaa hyvin Saturnus-putken aloittaa. Erottaahan tuosta Cassinin jaon ihan riittävän selkeästi
