Visibility IV / V
There had been so many dramatic readings in the Aurora Now service that the wait was hard for the northern lights. At eight o'clock a little stars were visible outside and I had to hurry to see if anything was visible. I left for the old familiar Häikänniemi, where we have photographed the Northern Lights over the years for several nights. The clouds were completely on our side this time, considering that the autumn in Joensuu was completely cloudy almost every Northern Lights night.
The road in Häikänniemi had not been plowed, so we had to drive carefully to the destination, avoiding the grooves, hopefully they would plow the road before the next fires. Finally, when I reached the beach, the clouds had cracked so much that the Northern Lights were beautifully clear. Suddenly a message to Karri and Teemu that here! :)
Indeed, encouraged by Karri, I decided to put some of the sweetest shots of the evening here for the service.
I have never seen some colorful northern lights, in green, purple, red and orange, etc ..
The last picture in this set is a self-portrait of Joensuu's northern lights bongars (from left: Karri Pasanen, Teemu Saramäki and Kari Kuninkaanniemi)
