Partial solar eclipse - 20.3.2015 at 11.00 - 20.3.2015 at 13.15 Järvenpää Observation number 35798

Visibility IV / V

Jani Poikela, Ursa (Etelä-Suomi)

In the morning the sky was cloudy so I had to go driving a little further north. Due to various misfortunes, the departure was delayed and I only had time until Järvenpää when the eclipse had already begun. Vanhankylänniemi was chosen as a place of reconnaissance and photography because of its convenient location.

The whole eclipse was visible behind a thin cloud of gauze, and a 22-degree halo was visible in the cloud gauze almost throughout the eclipse.

The first image could be called a landscape sun eclipse image :) The second shows the eclipse behind the welding glasses and the 22 degree halo (thanks to the kind gentleman who was in the same place photographing and admiring the eclipse).

The fourth image shows a sunspot revealed just behind the moon.
