M92 - 13.6.2015 at 02.01 Orimattila, Artjärvi, Tähtikallio Observation number 39034

Visibility II / V

We got an idea from the team for the talkoo activity weekend from 12-14.6 summer observations, a week before midsummer. The spherical star clusters were chosen as the target. The observation device was Artjärvi Tähtikallio's Alluna RC-16 and Sbig STL1001 camera. We first tried the filters, M107 on a dim target. Only with the R filter did we get something visible. H-Alpha was very noisy, Blue B something, L and G saturated. We took 30s of 2s exposures with R-filter from all our subjects. I took pictures with MaximDL v4.5 and my poor handling skills. Image calibration was not successful without working smoothing images. The targets were M107, M10, M12, M14, M13, M92.

    • Kuvaus tapahtui viikko ennen juhannusta ,vaalealta kesätaivaalta. Näkyvät tähdet varmaankin lähes kaikki punaisia, johtuen suodattimesta. Muut suodattimet eivät toimineet näissä olosuhteissa.

Globular cluster is a ball-shaped group of thousand of stars. Typically it looks like a round fuzzy spot. With bigger instruments a part of the stars in the cluster can be seen as sepaterated.
