Telescopic comet PANSTARRS - 19.3.2016 at 23.43 Helsinki, Maunula Observation number 49829

Visibility II / V

Jorma Ryske, Etelä-Suomen kosmol. seura

The dim comet C / 2014 S2 (PanSTARRS) was almost in the zenith of the Dragon constellation. The brightest star in the image is GSC 4401: 1212 with a magnitude of 12.47. Light pollution, high clouds, and 88% of the moon were severely hampered, which I tried to compensate with the long-focal length F15 aperture in Maksutov. And again, at approximately the exponent of the focal length, there was a challenge with focusing and guitar tube / guide camera distortion.
