Quiet aurora band - 28.3.2017 at 21.42 Joensuu Observation number 62547

Visibility II / V

After last night’s really handsome northern lights show, the plan was clear. Even tonight I have to go hunting, even though expectations for activity were no longer very high. We drove again to work with Pasanen Karri, this time with the campfire. The intention was to take it easy, and enjoy the clear sky, of course on that side we also take wholesale pictures.

Upon arrival, the eyes revealed the truth. The evening and night will most likely be calmer and more dilute than the previous one. This idea was also supported by satellite data, which was no longer very favorable except for the speed of the solar wind. We walked close to the edge of the melt, and took pictures at a calm pace. Personally, I was left to bet that I would put another camera on the rail and knock the timelapse. The idea remained in the lottery stage, and I took some more pictures until I finally decided to put another camera to sing. I went to get it from the car, and started tuning another camera ready for the rail. After all, you know that what always happens in these lottery situations? Right, the northern lights brightened in the middle of adjusting the other camera, and I had to discard everything in the middle of it to get pictures even with the other camera. The set was short, but on a clear night it was quite a mug. After that, I tuned the rail, and left it to do its job.

The fires diluted enough that we decided to tune the campfire and fry the sausages while waiting for the northern lights to brighten. We managed to carry out the firing in peace, until by 24 o'clock the lights were re-enlightened. Again, the show was just nice. I let the rail do its work for a while longer, and at about 1 o'clock we decided to go home. Very nice trip, thanks again to Karri Pasanen for the company :).

Aivan ihana tuo viimeinen kuva. Loistavaa jälkeä!

Kiitos Emma :).

On hieno tunnelma tuossa viimeisessä kuvassa.

Ohhoh, kiitokset molemmille :). Havaintoon tuli väärä kellonaika, kameran kello on talviajassa. Oikea aika on havainnon alulle on tunnin myöhempään.

Komppaan kommenttia viimeisen kuvan hienosta tunnelmasta. Menisi ihan täydestä jossain matkailuesitteessä!

Voihan vitsi! Outokummussa toissa yönä näkyi, mutta eilen ei millään jaksanut lähteä jahtiin. Ajattelin että ei kai siellä mitään kun pihaan ei näkynyt. Tyhmä minä, sietäisi hävetä!

Nämä on oikein mallikkaat kuvat, onnea hyvästä saaliista! Tulisko vielä edes yksi näytös tänä keväänä jos kaikki laitettais sormet ristiin?

Kiitoksia kommenteista :). Jonkinlainen mahdollisuus tuolla näyttää olevan tänäänkin, kannattaa tarkkailla tilannetta parhaassa paikassa, eli revontulikyttääjien ryhmässä facebookissa.
