A fireball at night, as bright as a cresent moon - 9.1.2018 at 08.10 Pori Observation number 69425

Visibility IV / V

The fireball was really bright, so it stood out in the sky clearly. I drove the observation while making the car under normal street lighting, so I didn’t see how much it would light outside. However, it was so visible that even though I was behind the wheel of a car in city traffic and there were a lot of pedestrians and other things to watch, I noticed it well. I drove along Otavankatu, and the phenomenon was visible to me directly north. The phenomenon lasted 3-4 seconds, after which the fireball disappeared from my point of view behind the house. A truly thrilling once-in-a-lifetime experience!
