Visibility IV / V

Markku Lintinen, Tampereen Ursa

At the same time, fireball observations from Lempäälä and Ylöjärvi had been reported to Taivaanvahti. The phenomenon was found in a video recording of the Night Eye of Kauppi Tower and I commented on the observation that it looked like an Iridium flash. When I also found it in a recording from a camera in Kangasala, it looked like it couldn’t be an Iridium satellite because of its scale. Based on the Sky Safari simulation, I think it is a higher orbiting Envisat 1 satellite. The phenomenon was shown on the Tampere camera at 18:24:55 - 18:25:03 and in Kangasala 18:24:56 - 18:25:03.
