Visibility III / V
The radar showed a thunder front, quite wide as it extended from Lohja to Lahti and came from the northwest as a sharp-edged avalanche cloud. Before that, a separate cloud dropped a hailstorm, small hailstones among the water, but spectacular as it fell from the cloud. It seems to be described by someone else here, the same hail cloud.
Waiting for the front to approach is always a great moment. You can visually assess when the avalanche is coming on, and then the wind starts to rise. In an instant, the wind already twists all the trees and shrubs, and you know that there is no more time to run to the shelter any further, the rain starts in ten seconds. Hiphurra! Finally raining!
The front rolled over with a couple of cloud flashes and a muffled thunder, and the pouring rain started right from the front edge. Among its rain were small granules, less than 5 mm, that melted immediately. You don't get decent pictures of the car, someone could come up with a solution.
As the front passed, large mammoths appeared, which gradually fluffed over half an hour so that the roundness disappeared into a more vague form. A piece of the rainbow was visible for a long time, including a side rainbow for a while. Immediately after the rain, the rainbow was brilliantly colored.
Then came the surprisingly beautiful completely empty and blue sky for the rest of the evening. The cloud front did not pull the stern but ended abruptly. Now you can see the bulging sickle of the growing moon today wonderfully.
Such a thunderstorm opening, after a 6-week rainless heatwave that began with a declining crescent and lasted one and a half lunar cycles, to an almost increasing crescent.
Well, the little deaf came one night earlier. But it evaporated. This stayed on the ground. Yes, there was salvation for the plants.
