Total lunar eclipse - 28.7.2018 at 00.15 - 28.7.2018 at 01.25 Kittilä Observation number 75927

Visibility IV / V

Sari Pietikäinen, Corona Borealis, Rovaniemi

Like many, many others, I had skipped a lunar eclipse to the top of Levi to wait well in advance on Friday night. The sky was quite clear, except for a small mist on the horizon. The camera stock was already ready at about 23, but the first observation of the moon did not finally come until the end of the full eclipse phase, when a small sickle appeared in the sky. My own bet is that the northern sky was but too bright for a completely darkened moon to stand out from it. But by no means, it was nice to follow the shift of the shadow. These pictures were taken at 0.24, 0.39, 0.51, 01.00 and 01.18. Yes, I ripped the picture about every minute, and the dream is to make a compilation or video of them, as long as I learn how to ...
At one point the wind reached quite wild, and it started to get really cold, but with that I shot until the end of the partial phase. Eventually I noticed that everyone else had given up, and I was alone at the top of the mountain. Pretty great experience!

Sama kokemus Autista, Rovaniemen kaakkoispuolelta.
