IC 1805 - 21.8.2018 at 23.23 - 22.8.2018 at 01.13 Turku Observation number 77080

Visibility III / V

Santeri Peltola, Porin Karhunvartijat

Finally and finally got to start this year’s shooting season and couldn’t have better started the tripod trend hit the button and for the first time got taken 10 minutes of single exposures without a guide. My own favorite heart fog and gauze fog, which I have long wanted and longed to photograph, were selected for the night's subjects.

The place where we had to be photographed was once again open in Ruissalo, Turku, and the night was really great, the stars shone and the sky was really calm, the evening culminated when the deer family came to marvel at my hustle and bustle 15 meters away: D

In an emission nebula the hot stars nearby cause the gas glow. This should not mix with reflection nebula, where the gas is only lit up by nearby stars.

The appearance of a gas nebula is irregular, and the fainter parts of it need bigger instruments to be visible.

Emssion nebulae in Cepheus. The bigger part is composed of the nebulae Cederblad 214 (Ced214) and NGC 7822. The lower round nebula is called Sharpless 170 (Sh2-170). Image J-P Metsävainio.

In this 4-degree-field there are emission nebulae Sh2-157, Sh2-158, Sh2-159, Sh2-161 and Sh2-162 (or NGC 7635 aka Bubble Nebula) and open clusters M52 and NGC 7510. Image Juha Kepsu.

Aika hyvin jos 10 minuutin valotuksia HEQ5:lla ilman guidausta. Muuten hyvä kuva mutta tarkennus olisi voinut ollut aavistuksen parempi.
