1522 Kokkola - 17.9.2018 at 01.15 - 17.9.2018 at 02.08 Tampere Observation number 77724

Visibility II / V

Tapio Lahtinen, Tampereen Ursa

After testing, I looked at what is on offer in the southern sky.
The star chart program then said that the asteroid 1522 Kokkola would be visible.
And it happened appropriately when Kokkola is my former hometown.

I then took a small series of pictures with a green and red filter.

The asteroid was discovered on November 18, 1983 by Liisa Oterma.
Its orbital period is 3.64 years and it is 9.42 km in size.
The brightness varies over a 5.83 hour period from 0.29 magnitude.

Afterwards, I made astrometric and photometric measurements and got the following results.

With green filter (1:25):
RA 02 41 44.41 DEC +10 20 48.2 15.8 G

With red filter (1:50):
RA 02 41 35.20 DEC +10 20 17.1 15.9 R

Hieno havainto.
