Rocket-related clouds - 8.10.2018 at 06.45 Helsinki Observation number 78525

Visibility IV / V

Anu Solastie, Ursa (Helsinki)

I paid attention to the light moving in a south-north direction, which was like being surrounded by water vapor. The light moved past Sirius towards Betelgeuze at about satellite speed. Upon reaching the ceiling of the sky, the light formed a clear cone of light forward among the fog. The phenomenon disappeared in my view behind the trees, and unfortunately I couldn’t follow it any further. I was wondering at the time how such a hazy light could move in a clear sky where the stars were sharply visible. Other observations here have revealed that it was a Falcon 9 launch vehicle.

#raketti: Falcon9
#satelliitti: SAOCOM 1A
