Visibility V / V
Outgoing Wirtanen photographed with a CCD and digital wit. In the second CCD image, the stretch of the image is knocked out as much as possible so that the entire comet material becomes widely visible. Wirtanen fills almost the entire field of view, thus being at least 20 arc minutes in size and perhaps slightly egg-shaped, so the tail could be right downward. CCD images are 18 'x 23' in size.
Illustrated by Anni and Esa Heikkinen, processing of CCD images Veli-Pekka Hentunen.
