Image of an exceptional thunder cloud - 17.6.2019 at 20.40 - 17.6.2019 at 21.00 Ylitornio Observation number 83896

Visibility V / V

I saw a black cloud breast as I drove north at Ylitornio. As I drove closer, bright flashes appear but not yet in cloud form. In the village then I noticed this ‘rinkula’ or donut. It was so special that I decided to stop even though it felt wrong when there was a thunder from all over. In the north there was heavy rain which can be seen on the right side of the picture. The sun was still shining in the south. Many hundreds of birds flew in the sky and were in some distress. In the picture, they are shown in the upper left corner. The cloud was just awesome and I’ve never seen anything like this except in one of the ‘Storm Chasers’ pictures.
The image is a panorama of three vertical images. That cloud was that big. Even more exciting when I think about it for a day :)
